I just meant the circumstances were similar, but certainly not identical. In the end, the only thing that matters is how well Pennix plays one of these days. -

Regarding Arod being new, that is not really my point. My point is that Packer fans felt that Love was a reach and that the Packers needed help to actually win a Superbowl. If Pennix takes over qb in three years and plays well, no one will care when he was drafted. And the main point of drafting anyone is to make the team better. For Pennix, the GM was thinking a couple of years down the road, not now. And to put the team in a position for sustained long term success. Only time will tell if that philosophy will work. It probably won't work, but then the majority of draft picks down work out as well as teams hope they will.
