His post was one of the most reasonable I have seen. He is not asking for immediate replacement but some competition and if Bryce still can't improve after next season then replacement. I feel like that should be the plan moving forward. How many years do you think they will bring Bryce out if he keeps struggling and they have fixed the O-Line and decent receivers who give a crap and can get separation? I hope they wouldnt go further than a couple years but who knows I guess.

No NFL team can trot out Bryce Young for 3 straight seasons if he looks the same as he did last year with changes.  NFL moves too fast in this current age.  No one gets that sort of time anymore.  Too many jobs are at stake.  I mean, find a QB that was that bad that played for 3 straight years.....it doesn't happen.  They get yanked.

Hopefully so. If next season is as much a struggle as this season was we HAVE to look elsewhere at QB I would hope.

Just about every media member has said the next coach has to be hired as a head coach and not as someone who can "fix" bryce.  We shall see how this plays out going forward

I mean, I think you try to salvage him and see what he looks like in a good scheme and with a better roster.

but yeah, I don't think the next HC is going to take the job if they are tied to Young's success.  They shouldn't be.   That was Fitt/Frank.  New head coach should just be tasked with building a good team.  And Bryce might not have a role big picture in that.

next hire should have some legit youth and veteran options in the QB room.  I think Bryce has to show growth by the midway point next season or the crowds/social media/media will demand a change.  The narrative around the team still matters.  Always does.  It impacts things.

Bryce Young easily could end up as a developmental project if things don't pick up for him with changes next year.

We already were when Young was drafted.

Nothing I said was wrong or delusional. Anyone that would just roll into next year with only Young after this year deserves to be one and done in their jobs. If Young can't beat out a backup he shouldn't be starting. It really doesn't get any simpler than that.

They aren’t bringing in competition I’m sorry..

Reality is unlike this board most of the league doesn’t see BY as the problem..

I think generally, the standard is the inherited QB plays year 1....THEN they move on.  So I think the odds favor Bryce starts off 2024 and the odds are high he doesn't start 2025.    That's how QB overall plays out more times than not with a new regime.

Every coach that interviews will have/need a plan for Bryce Young. The critical answer will be their plan B if and when plan A doesn't work out. Which I suspect that any coach will get 2024 to figure out. I'm sure another qb will be signed off the street as another camp arm will be needed. The only real competition that may come will be for backup qb. The competition for starter will come in 2025 if that is necessary.  Which based on this seasons results looks very much likely to happen.

I think the new GM needs to focus on building a solid roster and give Bryce one more year to develop.  If he stinks again, the worst that can happen is we have a top 5 pick in the draft next year and can try again with drafting another QB, or look to sign a free agent veteran to compete with Bryce.

If the coach and gm aren't on board with Young they won't be hired unfortunately.  He's going to be the starter next year.  Biggest fear is he slightly improves. Then we're picking 6-10 next year.  Then he slightly improves again and we're picking 14-16. I think that's about his ceiling but then we stick with him again thinking he'll take the next step and will waste 4 years on a guy that's never going to win a super bowl. In am ideal world he's just as bad next year and we can pick #1 in the 2025 draft

This should be the biggest fear .. Not to get into the Daniel Jones predicament.. Stuck in purgatory.. Not bad enough to get the top pick and not good enough to make the playoffs..

I'm not buying this anymore.  Playoff threshold isn't that high if you have a solid roster around the QB.  Look at the Lions, Bucs, etc.

See? They already have their excuses ready for as long as the bust is here. That way they're "never wrong" lol.

Call it excuses but that’s the reality as seen by most of the league.. You keep living in this Panther bubble thinking the outside world thinks the same way you do.. But it doesn’t..

They already have Dalton and the last coach already tried lol, the one the helped draft him lol

Better get ready for the inevitable. Also all of that draft BS is already dead and gone. It's like watching his school film at this point. There is actual NFL game film and it's terrible lol.

There is absolutely no way you know what the league thinks of bryce.  I dont either, I just know what I watched for the past 16 games with him.  Dont pretend you know the pulse of the nfl in regards to young, I do know that if he was on any other nfc south team we would be laughing our collective asses off at this point.

I suspect we will get a glimpse of what folks think of him during interviews.  Whatever might leak or whoever potentially may pass

not buying what?? I just agreed that BY needs a major jump in performance so the team isn’t in a situation where they can’t get a QB while BY shows slow progress making you have to pay him..

What planet do you live on..

Even Dalton knew he wasn’t brought here to be competition .. He’s literally said that in interview.. His job is to backup and support BY.. Which he will be doing again next year..
