Richard Marshall gets 2nd rd. tender

Wow, kinda surprised it's the 2nd round tender. Someone could definitely make a play for him..

Now I'm just speculating right now, completely theoretical, but..

could this mean we might be planning on pursuing Dunta Robinson?

I wonder if we had any long term contract talks with him. I remember his agent last year saying that Marshall expected to be one of the highest paid corners in the league when he reached free agency. Maybe we would rather have a second then pay what they will be asking next year. They may feeel that no matter the tender, we can always match the deal unless there is a poison pill in it.

I highly doubt it but I would love to see marshall move back to nickle, he turns nickleback into a starting role. He's a beast in the slot.

Hard to tell. Remember his agent is Drew Rosenhouse (Probably bad spelling)

I don't think they will cheap out I think there just trying to put the money in the right places. Although I would have liked for him to get a higher tender, I'm more concerned with keeping Davis & Moore and giving them the higher tender so if someone does try to get them we can match or get something for them!

Our team as a whole has a pretty good relationship with Rosenhaus. P55 is most likely right, he probably wants a big big payday.

I wonder if we are just THAT impressed with Munnerlynn that we would be just fine with him startnig opposite Gamble.. I know I was impressed with him.

He was decent. He didn't look #2 caliber though. For a rookie 7th rounder, he looked awesome though.

    • He makes a good point about Wallace.  In fairness to Wallace it is hard to play your position as freely as you need to when your defensive line is getting pushed around like ragdolls.  One of the greatest attributes a defensive line has is sucking up blocks, freeing up your linebackers.  Our defensive line couldn't suck up a lollipop more or less blocks.  I think Evans, Sanders and Tremble are going to be a really nice TE group.  I can see all three getting time on the field.  If Sanders can improve as a blocker teams won't be so inclined to believe it is a pass play whenever Sanders is on the field.  Ryan Fitzgerald, I think was an awesome pick-up. Hopefully he can fill our kicker void. Luke Kandra many turn out to be our next Norwell.  Everything I have heard about him says he's a beast.  He needs some refinement, but the good news is he's got Hunt and Lewis (arguably the best guard tandem in the league) to learn from.
    • Great teams build through the draft and have several young players that start that are on rookie contracts. It's important to hit on players in rounds 4 thru 7.  These should be future starters and solid depth.  When you hit on most of your picks you free up a lot of cap space for those one- or two-year players to fill spots you are thin at. No GM is going to perfect on all their picks.  You're going to whiff every once in a while.  That was Hurney problem.  He'd nail the first pick but after that it was reach after reach and we couldn't get any depth on this team. I'm excited about Morgan as our GM and hopefully he'll be around a long time.  It will be even better if Canales can continue to grow as a head coach, both in the development of young players and play calling. I remember last season after Young came back in the lineup and started to perform well.  We saw different plays I had only seen other teams use.   If Canales's play design and play calling continue to grow. Morgan and Canales will be linked together for a long time.  It would be nice to see a Coach and GM together for a decade or two. Go Panthers
    • They also came out for the encore and the singers were dressed in canes jerseys. Pretty fuging cool.
