Fox on Tebow

John Fox:

Q: How do you think The Golden Calf of Bristol is doing dealing with the scrutiny?

“It’s fair to say, in my short time getting to him, he’s a guy who’s going to respond to that well.”

Q: What do you make of this new throwing motion?

“It’s kind of like my golf game, sometimes I tweak my swing some too.”

Q: Do you think some people have been too quick to dismiss The Golden Calf of Bristol?

“I don’t know that anyone has dismissed him by any stretch, you still have to look at his body of work.”

Q: What can you take away from watching workouts like these?

“We don’t have a lot of looks at ‘em as coaches. We just get to look at ‘em this time of year, so sometimes it’s our first exposure other than TV games along the way.”

Q: What did The Golden Calf of Bristol show you out there today?

“He doesn’t lack in the work ethic department, so whatever needs to be done he’ll do.”

It Is What It Is.

Like him or hate him, Fox has a tremendous way of keeping the media away from him even if it does frustrate the fans. Nobody with a deadline is going anywhere near John Fox for a quote about anything. In it's own throwback kind of way, it's actually respectable that a coach isn't posturing for a career in broadcasting after he's done coaching.

Bill Clinton vs. John Fox

Who would manage to get out of the most trouble by talking his way through it?

"I did not touch that woman!"

"Well, sometimes you have to make hard decisions during the course of a game, and sometimes you just have to go for the score."

    • this is true.  But NFL Ss and defenses are actively taking that away and playing to take them away vs most teams.  The problem thus far in BY's career......is they are cheating and not respecting the deep game which makes the smaller/mid range game harder to pull off.  and Dallas is an anomaly game.  using those random games as well, look at this......doesn't really change the discussion/issues in Carolina.  Bryce Young took the shots this week because they were not just NFL open but college open.    Wide open dudes downfield that really were coverage busts/issues.
    • I will simply counter all that with: you should always strive, at every turn, to avoid indoctrinating young players into a culture of not playing to win the game.  Come man, that is an egghead academic approach that ignores the human element. it looks good on paper. Maybe.  In the voice of the great  Herm Edwards: Hello! You play to win the game.  I completely understand the need but that is not the way….
    • I wouldn't mind a te room of LaPorta,  Musgrave and b strange
