No word on our refs yet. But it won’t be Rank and Garrett again. They are up in Boston.

Honestly not sure it matters It wouldn't shock me if the Isles fail to score a PP goal in this entire series even if they get five chances a game....

And on the flip side the Canes will probably convert at least 1 of 3.

The refs care more about keeping penalty calls even and "policing games" than actually calling correct penalties.

I wonder if Lemieux needs to be in tonight? I have a feeling the goons will be out tonight.

I don't think the Isles go goon, they did last year because our PP was as bad as theirs this season we can and will make them pay nothing loses this series faster for them than gooning it up....  I hope they do

Once a goon always a goon. It just depends on when it comes out. It did a bit in the third last game.

I’d rather Lemuix be there just in case they do. I still have nightmares from Svech, falling and getting the concussion fighting Ovechkin. Albeit, Svech is probably 30lbs heavier now.

You’ll see more physicality in this game for sure.

The Pisles were sixth in the regular season in hits and I’m shocked that they weren’t more physical in our opening game.

No matter, as long as the hits are legal I don’t care because being overtly physical can sometimes put a team in a bad spot defensively when they are focused more of making a hit and less on making the right play. We saw this exact situation occur in the Caps/Rags series and it led to a Rags goal.

Remember Fast is out tonight, who takes his place?

    • While I'd love to add him, it just doesn't make sense for where we are at in our re-build right now. The only teams who should be interested are those who have a very legitimate shot at winning the SB this season, as any team who makes the trade is going to be mortgaging their future to make the move. Teams who make these kinds of trades and then give them the massive contract, in the hopes that it will expedite their path to contention, ALWAYS ends up backfiring because they have to give up the 1st round picks that are then needed to help build out the rest of the roster after eating up such a significant chunk of the cap on the new contract. There is no way the Cowboys trade him for anything less than 2 future 1st rounders (and probably more), plus we'll have to make him the highest paid non QB in league history.  Not to mention that it would then have made the Scourton and/or Princely picks a bit of a waste, as those 2nd and 3rd round picks would have been better off used on a ILB or DB
    • Like his approach to pre season that's ro get them out there and play together for a few plays and right about the night before and morning before.  Maybe we can come out the gate on fire I can smell the smoke from here!!   Go Panthers
    • Only 26 years old, fills the biggest hole on our roster. Top 3 at his respective position, yeah fug it how often does a future HOF player become available in their prime?
