No offense but, I'll take Canales over you 100% of the time.

Young isn't a franchise QB. He just needs to execute his high profile position.  Manage the game plan and do your job.

that sounds like a recipe for a .500 team.  In the NFL a qb has to elevate to become sustained playoff level team.  And good for you buddy for believing in classic coach speak

He is going to have to play under center some to open up the playbook. Throw in some PA and rollouts and I’m all for it.

I mean, the overwhelming bulk of a Bryce Young offense is going to need to be in the gun.  He is too small to live much in a traditional pocket and his game just isn't a fit for it.

they drafted Bryce Young.  It's time they realize it and act accordingly.  Which they failed to do as a rookie.  I mean, Frank at least liked the shotgun but that was it.  Horrific scheme and talent that didn't match where Bryce would go with the ball.

As I said last week, it doesnt work like that in the NFL.

The Niners almost pulled it off. You just need an absolutely loaded roster and creative coaching. Definitely not the norm.

the Panthers drafted him last year #1 overall and gave up a fortune for him.   Now you got folks talking about him like he is PJ Walker who we plugged out of FA.

For those wanting to know what he has been up to this offseason….

"Literally. Nothing," he replied with a laugh. "I was kind of away from football for the most part, just living every other aspect of my life”

The contortion of our situation and how we got here is pretty funny watching it evolve.  He went from didnt need wrs because he is so good at raising others up around him, anticipation and knowledge of the game to just dont fug up out there.

So no attention to footwork all offseason is a concern

That, is such a huge job - completely changing from the ground up. You can do it and do reps all perfect, but will you trust it in a game or revert to the easy comfortable way you always did it?

That is what has to be proven. It needs to be even more ingrained than the old way to supplant it. And I don’t have faith they can do it, but maybe he can drill some reliability in.

So basically Young takes over or he's a bust. He's not Cam Newton and isn't a franchise QB.

Whether we like it or not Young is QB1 and he's a game manager, at best.

Oh yeah the gun is going to be his bread and butter, but we can't eliminated all other formations all together.  I watched us run up run up the middle on 3rd and 1 from the shotgun way too many times last year.  Give me some runs under center, with some PA, rollouts etc to keep defenses off their toes.
