Canes vs Rags Round 2 Game 1 4pm

Recommended Posts

Think it’s important that we get a lot more offense from our defense this series.

We only got two goals from the defense last series and if for some reason the forwards get cold, we are going to need a lot more from that.

Also need Kuzy and Necas to have the series’ of their lives. They’ll be the best players on the ice when they are out there against the Rangers bottom six, they need to play like it.

Finally, guess I’ll pick up Raising Canes for the game, got to show my support somehow.

It was because Varlamov had a super strong high glove side and excellent rebound control, plus high selling out to block by the islanders(something the rags do also but not the extreme the islanders do it). One of those two goals came against Samsanov almost immediately.

Igor on the other hand is fallible glove high sometimes, not as bad as Bob though for sure.

Necas may have only had 1 goal but he had a quietly good series against the islander 5 points, 1g, 4a, 1.0 ppg, though he is a -1. His defense was definitely not the best last series.

Frankly, Aho and Guenz need to up their game. Guenz was a .8 ppg with an empty netter so you could argue he’s a .6 on game changing points, Aho is also a .6 ppg.

Kuz isn’t really a stat issue. +2, 2g 2a, 4p. But he was off a lot last series in the ozone. I don’t know if he was trying too hard or not enough but…

Does anyone know if Bally’s is still gonna do a pre-game/post-game show? I’d rather not have to listen to PK and Messier fawn over the rags. Wish we were on TNT/TBS. Really grown to like the TNT/TBS crew this playoffs, which is the opposite of last year.

Yeah, these national guys are tough to watch.

Sounded like no on the podcast. Willis will be doing some stuff on WRAL.

    • One thing about it, he's not thinking about retiring. I found it odd that some Huddlers were taking rumors and running with them, imagining a slow down and "up-playing" injuries. Moton feels great and is still in his prime according to him, and his game is still indicative of his thoughts.  Sure, it may ultimately come down to economics, but I am sure that everyone involved is motivated to keep him in Charlotte.
    • I think the knee stuff with Moton has been blown way out of proportion. The exact quote was “It’s chronic stuff. Most linemen deal with it. But it’s just figuring out what we can do to make sure it’s limited and I’m still able to explode off it, which right now I can and I feel like I can in the future,” After a while, you start learning more about it and what can we do to make sure it’s as little of an issue as possible. I feel like I’m moving like I was when I was younger.” I don't view that as a guy who's saying his knees are on their last leg I see that as a 10-year NFL olineman saying that obviously after 10 years of playing a really physical sport, he's never truly gonna be 100% healthy again and he's gonna need to spend more time with the training staff to ensure his body can continue to perform at a high level. I think Moton has another 3 to 5 years left if he wants to continue playing.
    • So much crying. Tiresome. All of you should have had enough time to come to terms with the team picking up his 5th year...
