TDA remains unsigned as of yesterday.

It was reported in May he was going to require hand surgery in the off-season. Not sure if that's done, but he is not under contract with anyone.

With only 6 blue-liners under contract and 21 of 23 slots filled on the active roster, he may be back on a 1-year deal. Unless Morrow cracks the lineup. He has a 2-way and would save some cap space. Not much, but some.

Neither is Nadeau.

I guess Aho and Jarvis aren't either lol seeing as both were slightly lighter when they made their debut.... and still listed lighter FUS will be fine...

 

Nadeau I agree could use anther 15-20 pounds.

Hoping for the best with him. He's been through some tough times and I hope he finds himself in a place he wants to be, and around people who want to be with him.

We were only fortunate enough to see just a glimpse of what he's capable of as a hockey player. The emotion and fire he brings to the ice is a likely contributor to his issues, but here's to his health and well-being.

It appears the demise of Evgeny Kuznetsov and his departure from the NHL may be a little premature:

It didn’t take long for reports that Carolina Hurricanes forward Evgeny Kuznetsov was leaving the NHL for the KHL to take a turn. Championat.com first reported that Kuznetsov was signing a four-year deal with SKA St. Petersburg despite still being under contract with the Hurricanes for another year. Kuznetsov’s agent agent made a statement regarding the situation.

In tweets from Hockey News Hub, Shumi Babaev spoke with Championat correspondent Vladislav Kruglov. Babaev stated that it’s too early to talk about Kuznetsov possibly returning to Russia.

“It’s not even clear why this news arose because he has a contract in Carolina for another year,” Babaev said. “But there was an appeal from SKA.”

It seems like at the moment, Kuznetsov is staying with the Hurricanes, but SKA has approached the player with an offer. Babaev also says SKA wasn’t the only team to be in touch.

“They called and said if Evgeny were to return to, they were ready to talk,” Babaev said. “The appeal was not only from SKA, but also from other teams.”

Babaev noted that Kuznetsov is primarily focused on working and playing in the NHL. A KHL return may come eventually, but nothing can be made certain at the moment. With a contract in place through the 2024-25 season, it seems unlikely that Kuznetsov will leave for Russia.

Before being drafted by the Washington Capitals in 2010, Kuznetsov played five seasons with Chelyabinsk Traktor of the KHL. Kuznetsov is a native of Chelyabinsk and scored 167 points in 251 games.

Over his 743-game NHL career, Kuznetsov has scored 173 goals and 402 assists for 575 total points. He was a huge part of the Capitals team that won the franchise’s first Stanley Cup in 2018.

He led the postseason with 32 points in 24 games that year.

Kuzy is definitely gone. As much as we liked him and wanted it to work, he isn’t a fit here. He plays his own way and didn’t really light the lamp as much to make up for it.  His pace doesn’t fit Rods system. We will be getting 4 million back. This should pave the way for Seth necas and Drury easily.  Also, will give us room for a good trade like Ehlers.

He was placed on unconditional waivers by the team for the purpose of terminating his contract, which I detailed at length in the Necas thread earlier today. A mutual parting of ways.

      My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.

      Ok LT and Petersen are a cut above everyone else to me cmc and Faulk are interchangeable on this list.  though Faulk was better career wise
