The truth is the Rangers had won 3 games by 1 goal, two of which were in OT. It's an extremely close series and the luck has FINALLY swung back the Canes way before it was too late. One game at a time

It’s only close because of special teams. We’d have won this series by now if our PP/PK were even close to our regular season numbers. We are so much fuging better 5v5. They have goaltending and special teams, both of which can be volatile. 1 game at a time but we have ourselves a series now.

Shitstirkin might finally be out of gas. He's been incredible in this series but they don't rest him and they broke him the last two games. Rangers definitely looked gassed in the third period while the Canes looked like they found the will to play another game. If they can put together another game like that third period looked I like their chances in Game 6 at home.

This is a product of facing 100 shot attempts a game 5 games in a row.

PNC is going to be rocking on Thursday. This is going 7 where all pressure will be on NY to not blow a 3-0 lead.

They looked completely shell shocked tonight.....

We take game 6 and somehow manage to start fast in game 7 and it's on....

I just don't see the Canes losing Thursday

I really think the key is to just play smart, sound hockey during the first couple of periods and maybe we get a couple of bounces.

It’s hard to keep leads and the last thing we need to do is expend a bunch of energy to only be up by one. The Rangers spent a lot of energy early to only be up by one and the Canes conserved a bunch of energy then annihilated New York in the third.

This is very similar to how Florida plays.

You need great goalie play or elite shot blocking to play that style. Our biggest problem is we forecheck so much, that our defense gets caught flat-footed and gives other teams odd man breaks way too much.

    • FLA showed everyone it’s not about superstars. they bullied the best line in the NHL into obscurity. they played hard, were in the right positions, and ran over everything that got in their way.
    • That’s really not what you said and when I even expressed doubt as to your intentions with the post you doubled down and remained unclear on whether you were trying to drag Dean Smith for whatever reason. You just got the facts wrong, which if you don’t follow the local college programs like you say then maybe you just were mistaken and thought Smith didn’t win championships or have legit superstars, and that is ok, but you just doubled down when my first post was more corrective than anything. I’m not sure what you expect posting objectively false things like “RBA has a lot of wins with nothing to show for it like Dean Smith” (paraphrasing) on a message board with plenty of UNC fans. I’m not taking it as a personal affront, we can agree to disagree, Dean Smith’s legacy fortunately will not be affected by this conversation. Screw the (Florida) Panthers?
    • Bring in the free agents and trades.  Florida is the best team and unless Tulsky makes it happen, it’s more of the same…which isn’t bad…but it’s time to win a goddamn cup.
