Twitter embed isn’t work for me so here is a cut and paste…

The #Chiefs have considered not using Harrison Butker for all kickoffs and instead using a player like safety Justin Reid.

Special teams coordinator Dave Toub said the new kickoff rule has kickers more involved in tackles, and they don't want that for Butker.

The full answer is worth a listen. The new NFL kickoff rule is such a huge change....

They had JJ Jansen talking about this on the radio this morning.  He said the kick can get more involved because he is only one that can move before the returner catches the ball.  So makes sense if you have a defensive player who can also kick perform kickoff duties.  He said that if this trickles down to college then you will have more players who can tackle and perform kickoff duties. He also said that rules for kickoff is not set in stone and the nfl is looking for feedback from coaches

Tabor did that some last year.  Eddie can just stay at the beach.  We got this.

I assume they're not predicting the kicker to go full steam right after the punt but if they didn't clarify that in the ruled book teams will exploit it. Like they can't go past the other kick off teams line of scrimmage or whatever until the ball is caught.

why cant they just let teams have their kicker kick it and then run off the field? Thats the only thing he can do and he also cant recover an onside. The kicking team will have 12 men to start, including the kicker, and then he runs off. 

the new rule seems complicated. Not sure if Im going to like it or not. If they wanted more returns, they shouldve just gone back to the old way.

Already seeing some teams bring those guys in this offseason

      Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.

      I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
