SMU is the only hope the ACC has.

Bruh.  There is no ACC team that realistically had a chance this year at a natty.  That’s been known for some time.   Miami isn’t a good team.  They have shown that all season in ACC play.  They just got a crazy good QB on a bad team.

I disagree. That O is stacked. The D is talented, but the DC has been an abomination.

I think a lot of you are going to be surprised with how poorly Ward does in the NFL.

No way to realistically make a run at a natty with that defense in Miami.  They were on the ropes every week in the ACC because of it.

I worry about Ward and Sanders at the NFL level given how they haven’t dealt with the repercussions of holding the ball like they have in college.  Think it’s getting too much in their DNA…and NFL defenses will get home….

Bruh. I told you this before the season even started. The ACC conference has been bad for years. My hope is they only let SMU in. At least the newcomer can get embarrassed. We don't need multiple ACC teams in the playoffs embarrassing the conference even more.

Saying that I was wrong I had Miami winning the ACC and they crumbled towards the end.

If I had to bet on the Nat'l championship winner I would probably bet Texas.

Nah, we were comfortable against almost everyone in the ACC.

Two bad losses at the end of the season because the O started to get figured out and bob's your uncle.

I never said we were going to win the National Championship - that wasn't the goal this year and a 10 win team is never a bad team.

Ward doesn't have a good enough deep ball for the NFL - forget how much he freelances and wants to take the killshot, that's what will limit him at the next level.

Agree, as more time goes on I don't think this is the draft to be shopping for QB.

We aren't in position to be drafting a QB anyways. This is viewed as a 2 QB draft and neither will be available as it currently stands.

It sucks Deion is controlling Hunter as well. He's the guy we really need but no chance he's available either unless we end up in that top 3.

Syracuse, GT, VT, Cal…..the comfort wasn’t seen by outsiders vs them.  That’s half the ACC slate.

    • Ok--I have seen some sample items, and I would like to see something (if possible) measures on field intelligence--maybe how quickly you can grasp a playbook or absorb film session adjustments...Back when we had Morrison as team president and Hurney as GM, I offered to assess (as part of my research in education requirement at a University) emotional intelligence and learning styles of players to help coaches teach more effectively.  Morrison loved it and contacted me about it.  Hurney was not interested, and it fell through the cracks.  My pitch?  If only 50% of first-rounders become successful NFL players and that number drops significantly, can you tell me that you are effectively measuring talent?  Morrison thought it was a good point and wanted to do something that might improve long-term success rates--that would impact the cap management, etc.  Marty, according to Morrison, said he was not interested at this time and if so, he would want a football guy to do it.  (I told Morrison that I played in college and Hurney, a sports reporter at one time, did not. (He told me that Hurney played as a Guard in college--who knew?) Any way, about that time, Morrison left (2017) and the idea was dropped.  I reached back out a year later or so to Marty was still not interested.  A few days later, his wife accused him of assault or something, so I dropped it.
    • Pretty sure they still do the Wonderlic they just don't publicly release the scores.
    • I just thought he was under the radar--but thanks for opening our eyes to him.  I think we should have better measures for intelligence--such as reaction time, angles, etc. Legette is raw as heck, for example, and his RAS was very high.  We used to do the Wonderlic (which was not great) but to know how effectively a player makes on field decisions would be great.
