Heisman finalists named…Hunter, Jeanty, Ward and Gabriel.

https://www.heisman.com/articles/gabriel-hunter-jeanty-ward-named-2024-heisman-trophy-finalists/

Reading this, I mean I knew Hunter was good but damn his numbers are pretty crazy.

Hunter, a two-way star, was named All-Big 12 first-team receiver and earned honorable mention for Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year. He leads the Big 12 with 92 receptions and 14 receiving touchdowns and is second with 1,152 yards. His 21 receiving plays of 20-plus yards lead the nation. He also is Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and a unanimous first-team defensive back after recording 31 tackles, tying for the Big 12 lead with 11 pass breakups and tying for second with four interceptions.

We’ve heard your QB opinions plenty in the past.  Hmm

3rd in the SEC in passing and #9 in the nation.  Hardly sucks

Yeah, and his hardly any experience having backup came in and immediately looked dramatically better.

If Beck doesn't get injured UGA loses that game. If they roll with Beck again Athens is gonna riot.

He is probably done anyway.  I just noticed Kirby said on his rehab “we will be supporting him every step of the way”.  That doesn’t sound good.

Kirby probably initially quiet….because I think the CFP had some precedent set that you have to penalize a team that loses their starting QB

I've seen a lot of people saying this but FSU would've easily been in a 12 team field. FSU just got screwed because it was the last year of the four team format.

He said it today but yeah they were smart to delay any news.  Georgia was #2 regardless though. Their resume was amazing

Losing your starting QB going into the playoff mattered last year.  Precedent was set.  Not saying they would have been out if it was known but you think they might have to be slightly dinked given what they did last year

Sure they would have still made the 12 team format.   I’m not suggesting UGA should be out with that news.   But if there starting QB is out for the season….how do you not ding them and knock them down a couple spots from #2.  Given what they did last year with key QB injuries if you know that.

The backup QB coming in and looking better than Beck probably has something to do with it. I mean, most people watching UGA have been wondering for awhile why the hell this guy hasn't been yanked yet. Not exactly the same situation as FSU last year when FSU's backup looked atrocious in a win against Louisville on the ACC championship game. When he went 8/21 their playoff hopes died. UGA's backup went 12/16.

    • Cant take him seriously because he likes Bryce sounds about right for around here
    • OK, let me first say that I can't get any Twitter link to embed--using "X" or "Twitter" or whatever, and I'm tired of trying. Now, I must say that I see Panthers stuff in Facebook on occasion as I'm part of some group, but I see Panthers stuff even less on the cesspool that is now X, but as a follower of the official Panthers Twitter, stuff pops up on that feed too. I guess that I shouldn't be surprised that agents of the organization would be putting out tweets like this: He's not even trying to be objective. It stands to make sense though. In order to get better information, you have to go to national sources like Kurt Warner.  I'm not necessarily trying to pick on J-Stew, per se, but I can't take him seriously, as even some past Panthers players, like Greg Olsen for example, don't seem like they're just trying to cater to Panthers Nation, just saying hollow words to make everyone feel good.  I just wonder why here on the Carolina Huddle, there seems to be more objectivity, or at least more critical thinking and serious discussion than most other social media sources on the Panthers. It's interesting. There is a significant difference.  For all the changes and the seeming decline in popularity to whatever degree, the Carolina Huddle still has its place and plays a big part in overall Panthers fandom. We want to be happy, joyous and cheer for the Panthers, but we aren't necessarily trying to shoot sunshine up people's derrières either.
