The difference is Rhule was the HC, both had talent both played here under a poo HC. We saw competency from Sam once Wilks took over, so slow your roll.

Wait what did Icege say about people blaming Bryce with the O-line and WR Separation last year? They blocked and got open the first two games this year....Bryce did nothing with it, all the sudden with Dalton the same crew can put up 30 points a game lol.  Dalton threw for 350 against Seattle last year with the same offense Bryce had. I'm glad they didn't sit him early in his career though because it would have just set us back another year waiting on him to learn and improve. Canales has seen all he needs to see. If BY wants another shot starting anywhere he officially has to compete for it and I just dunno if he has the desire, and even if he had that I don't think he's confident in his physical ability to play in the league.

You know damned well Canales had already seen. It was so fuging obvious to everyone but his (Young's) defense attorneys and lobbyists.

When Canales took the gig he knew he had to prove something. Job 1.

He did that by buttressing a weak player with every advantage he could provide, and letting him show who he was.

Now, one small hurdle to being good is cleared.

Yeah, it's a hell of a thing to expect your new HC to soldier through terrible QB play.

In fairness to our previous coaching staff, that is exactly what Tepper made them do.

It isn't like Dalton wasn't on the roster last season.

every panther fan should personally issue an apology to Frank Reich.   Myself included.  Granted he got a winning lottery ticket for 11 games of work but it was clear he wasnt the problem and he had the right idea about sitting young but was overridden

He was screwed when he wasn’t allowed to pick his own staff. At least he made a lot of money…

Bryce can’t see over an NFL o-line? Were Bama linemen that much shorter? LOL.

Doubt it but the defensive pursuit was not NFL fast when he left the pocket to see, and I guess when kept he backpedaling to be able to see downfield as well.

    • I think the first 3 picks will be defensive players this time. At least that's how the draft is falling this year. I would not be shocked at all if our 1st pick is the number one safety in the draft. It appears he will be right there for the taking.
    • Man oh man. That 8-9 record without a playoff berth puts at 13 if I recall, ahead of both Atlanta and TB with their 8-9 records, due to our weaker SOS.   We might have been in range to deal for that guy. I hope he doesn’t last to 8. And I hope some AFC team picks him.
    • Cool. I am not wanting to debate or argue it. It is mostly my preferences. But a couple of things:  I just don’t think he sees the middle of the field well. But besides that I would rather spend a 1st round pick at different offensive positions if we went offense, otherwise we have neglected defense something fierce the last few years. Last 1st rounder was Horn. That’s like 5 years ago now.   Investments… gee the last 4 drafts we have used a 2, a 2, a low 1st and a top ten pick on WR. Bryce has been here three years, three of those picks were specifically for him.  And assets, I don’t think you are counting the haul we gave for the QB position. That counts and it was huge.   Add that up and add the Burns cap space we freed up when we traded him. We bought two guards and used the savings on them. Not on the defense.  I mean, that is a lot of investment in the offense when you put all that in a sack and weigh it.    peace. Appreciate your post.
