First Take played decent role in ruining sports talk.  It’s trash.

Stephen A recently compared himself to Dak when talking about his next contract.  Which sort of highlights the key issue there.  The mindset of sports talk now is the host is the draw….when it should be the talk/guest and their ability to make them/that noteworthy.

half the time it’s evident dudes like Stephan A don’t even do basic research and know what is going on….its just about being loud and being a character

Yeah I saw that Stephen A comparison to Dak. Dude is annoying he really thinks he's a athlete just because he's famous in sports television. That take was ridiculous and not surprising.

The days of X's and O's debate shows are long gone. Just look at the people ESPN are hiring they are people who already have a decent podcast following. It's why they hired Shannon it's why they hired McAfee, Kelce, and now Cam.

Hot takes are what sell in sports these days. Everyone wants to go viral and get clicks.

Never trust a man with a jawline as weak as Stephen Smith's or someone who insists on using an initial in their name.

His first and last names are as common as they come. I can see why he'd try to distinguish his name.

That being said, I still agree with you! 🤣

His career was never going to be long with how HE played.

This is a popular take. He will be the first to tell you his worst hits and injuries happened IN the pocket.  Our lack of OL plus constantly asking Cam to play hero ball on 3rd and long shortened his career.

    • Care to elaborate why you disagree? We kicked the ball off 3 times and we kept the Browns to starting field position of the 22, 27, and 10 (would have been 21 before a penalty). All 3 of those are successes with the modern kickoff rule.
    • Its August so obviously quality options are not there. The question is whether any improvement can be made to the bottom of the depth chart.
    • NFL has a huge amount of parity.  The talent level between most NFL starters outside of the top 5 to 10 guys at a position is very comparable.  2020 worst teams Jacksonville Jaguars - 1-15 (worst record in NFL) New York Jets - 2-14 Cincinnati Bengals - 4-11-1 Atlanta Falcons - 4-12 Houston Texans - 4-12 Carolina Panthers - 5-11 Detroit Lions - 5-11 Philadelphia Eagles - 4-11-1 Los Angeles Chargers - 7-9 Denver Broncos - 5-11 2024 Worst teams New York Giants - 3-14 (tied for worst) Cleveland Browns - 3-14 (tied for worst) Tennessee Titans - 3-14 (tied for worst) New England Patriots - 4-13 Carolina Panthers - 5-12 Jacksonville Jaguars - 4-13 Las Vegas Raiders - 4-13 New York Jets - 5-12 Chicago Bears - 5-12 Arizona Cardinals - 8-9 Bengals, Texans, Lions, Eagles, Broncos and the Jags have all made the the playoffs in the last 3 years. What I'm saying is it's stupid to argue when team is the worst when there is so much parity and the system allows quick turnarounds.
