Didn’t want Hubert to replace Roy from the jump. He lucked into that tournament run and without that happening he’d already be toast. They’ll miss the tournament this year. Roster looks bleak next year so possibly worse. RJ has been a huge disappointment this season. Zero bigs. Terrible coaching. The team is playing worse as the season goes on…pitiful

The deep irony of a Wake Forest fan calling anyone "bums". Congrats on the win but my god, y'all have made three NCAA tournaments in the last two decades (when we have that many national championships in the same timeframe) and have missed it in the last seven years running so maybe chill with the "bum" talk over there in that very fragile glass house.

UNC got a top 10 guy in Caleb Wilson.  We needed that badly, hope he works out

I’d say Ian is almost certainly gone. The big question is can HD build a complete team. The other 2 recruits are in the 40s so typically those ride the bench at UNC for a year or two. Elliot I hope returns. The portal will make or break next season.

If a mass exodus happens Tarheels are in trouble.  That said this signing is a good start but the problem right now is Carolina is small everywhere.  Guard are small, SF is average size, no bigs with girth and power inside.  Hubert isn’t recruiting champ type players.  Wilson is a good piece but they need a big man badly.

The other two guys he recruited are mid guards.  I think the Tarheels should move on from Hubert.  Doubt they even can with the treasury they gave Belichick.

Well said. I can’t understand how HD couldn’t lock up a starting caliber big. Didn’t need to be a top 10, top 20, etc big but a competent C to rebound and alter shots. How he thought going into the season without a banded C/PF is mind boggling. Duplicated talent at 1-3 and zilch at 4/5. Awful team building.

    • I never thought a second look was even necessary. I was begging the football gods not to have us trade up to the 1st pick. And damn once we did it was a thoroughbred vs a little pony.    If you have a perceived generational player in the pool and you have the 1st pick, you just don’t trade it. In the first place. But all this Bryce drama - which (understandably) takes over almost any thread, just like this one - would never have happened if the team was not sold to Tepper.
    • I agree. I understand why he did though. And surely he had his parents in his ear who have always gone out of their way to make sure he always had the best and the least amount of adversity around him to that point in his life advising him to do so. Where I take the most issue with it is when people who just want to be sycophants start listing off other QB's who didn't throw at the combine and you don't even make it through half the names before your eyes roll right into the back of your head realizing every single of those QB's who didn't throw already clearly showcased the necessary prerequisite physical talents needed for the position.
