Bryce literally has a stronger arm than Jake Delhomme ever did and nobody complained about Jake throwing wounded ducks to Smitty. This unhealthy obsession with having a rocket arm is just dumb.

Bryce threw some beautiful spirals with anticipation and people literally talking nonsense.

This is revisionist history.  Everyone complained about smitty constantly having to stop his route to catch Delhommes passes

Red herring, we’re talking about arm strength not the height or tippy toes.  What’s really over the top is your obsession over his height

That might accurate if you had accused me of being under the top.

I gave him his large credit for standing in weeks ago, but reasonable is reasonable.

And what did I say that’s unreasonable? I didn’t say he’s made it or that he’s deserving of a second contract but have simply chosen to focus on the positive progression over the last 4 games instead of the same old stuff about his height and arm when neither been an issue as of late.  Cheers

You said he had a better arm than Jake or some such nonsense. Damn, talking about herring.

I thought that was beneath you, honestly. It isn't true.

ok fair enough but we still supported Jake until the 2009 season when the wheels fell off.

In response to nonsense about Bryce’s arm being an issue when he’s literally hitting guys deep in stride and Jake was notorious for throwing jump balls that Smitty had to wait for.   My example was to show how ridiculous the Bryce hate has gotten that people can’t even admit he actually looked like he can play in the NFL. We just need to see it consistently for the rest of the season

Let's keep the hype down to 11. He doesn't have a stronger arm than Jake. That is just ridiculous on its face, regardless of who was slowing down for what on what day for what reason.

I think it’s debatable. I loved Jake and how clutch he was but he threw more ducks than spirals. Bryce throws a better deep ball in my opinion when his mechanics are not out of whack. I stand by that

you have absolutely lost your mind about jake

I think alot of people commentit jake had a week arm only remmeber post tj surgery.  His arm was way better than youngs.  Young showed improvement last game but that doesn't make his arm stronger he still needs to be able to step into his throws to have any velocity as far a qbs the pantherd have had clausen and young have similiar arms

Bryce has had 3 to 4 ok games in his career. All of his career stats are terrible his last few games have been better but everyone is ready to jump on bryce train after an ok few games and forget what they have had to watch last 2 years. Andy dalton has still had way better games as a panther than young and he sucks.

The Panthers have had two long term starting QB's in the span of 30 years. Bryce Young looks halfway decent in a loss to the Chiefs and suddenly we're having to defend Jake Delhomme. There's "glass half full" and then there's "alright that's enough edibles for you".

    • You don’t even need 1b because Tepper is the only one foolish enough to wheel that deal.    Player wise? Jake’s elbow. JR and Pep getting sideways, no Carruth, Cam’s shoulder, Luke’s concussions, it would be a long list of stuff. You can take it down to certain plays in games. Fox chasing 2 point conversions in the SB would be on my list. RMJr slipping at the end of that same game was not helpful.
    • Ultimately this just amounts to heavy revisionist history. I mean you aren't talking to someone that just popped out the womb a week ago. I was here all throughout the predraft process. The overwhelming majority of the fanbase felt like this was a fine situation and the best situation for a rookie QB to go to compared to Houston for example. The hype for Young and our "rockstar" staff was off the charts. No one could dare speak cautious skepticism of his abilities or they would be neg repped into oblivion. Only after he had one of statistical worst rookie seasons of the last 25 years did we get this narrative now that his rookie season actually shouldn't count. Complete malarkey if you ask me.
    • On the field? Since I guess it qualifies as multiple instances it might not count, but have the damn refs throw some flags on illegal hits to Cam's head in SB50. If that doesn't count, 1A. Cotchery caught it 1B. Kasey keeps that kickoff inbounds. Off the field? 1A. Team is sold to anyone but Tepper 1B. We have the patience not to mortgage the franchise on that Bryce trade. Stroudwpuldve been the better pick but he's not worth it either.
