I Am Incredibly Encouraged by What I've Seen From This Team

Lately, took care of business and beat 2 bad teams  (Saints and Giants). Then we took 3 good playoff teams to the wire (Cheifs, Buccaneers, Eagles).

We don't have anywhere near the level of talent those last 3 had and still played close games.

I sincerely believe we are 3-4 good players, more disciplined football and experience coaching for Canales and crew, away from being a very good team next year.

Yea legette has dropsies chubba fumbled a game away and we can't stop the run (qbs or rbs ). But most of these issues can be resolved in 1 off-season.  All of them can be resolved in 2 off seasons

I see a ton of fans getting worked up about these losses. I just feel like people aren't looking at the big picture and forgetting the context of all of this.

Having a high draft pick when our team is this close to competing with the big guys is not a bad thing!!

We’re 1 fumble, 1 WR drop, and one horseshit call away from 3-0 the last three weeks and in the driver seat for the division.

This team is not healthy and is asking a lot of its rookies. We’re missing the best NT in the game. The way we’re playing right now is winning football with a healthy roster. We should be super stoked for what’s to come.

Entirely agree, and these loses are character building. This team wasnt going to go anywhere this year but the turnaround has been amazing. Teams typically go through this RIGHT before they become good and turn into a winning team. A good offseason next year could be special.

    • Kalkbrenner and Sion James received regular contracts and not two ways, so the Hornets have some work to do to cut the roster size down.
    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
