Panthers draft Armanti Edwards

I think people need to relax. The FO knows what they are doing more so than any person on this forum. Athletic freak, he is versatile and can help the Panthers in more ways than 1. Let things play out before you bash the kid.

For now, there is no sense in exploding. Nothing we can do changes anything, I for one, am going to embrace every draft pick we take and wish them the best. Everything is in the past, now we need to look towards the future. Something these players have to offer are going to make us a better football team.

dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb. great college player yes. possible wr convert sure, but basicly a 2nd rounder, um not just no, but HELL no.

the other picks were risky with high rewards, this one is over the top and a huge reach in the 3rd, much less using a 2nd to get it. last year the brown pick was basicly like picking hughes so that worked out. tell me which qb convert is gona be worth a 2nd next year? yeah it happens (matt coke head jones in the 1st comes to mind), but its rare. this pick is epic fail, the others have boom bust written all over them, as does this pick. this could be the best or worst draft in panthers history right now, but this pick is gona bite hard considering the value we gave up for a 5th round guy......

    • Option A:  Pay your starting QB starting QB money. Option B:  Look for a starting QB for 4-10 years (or longer) while wasting the talent at every other position.    How many of the top 20 QB's do you think are worth what they are being paid?   When you factor in the last year of his present deal his contract is really an average of 45 million per year which in today's QB market is a very, very good deal. I wish we'd had found a Brock Purdy to pay 50+ million a year right after we parted ways with Cam.  Ya'll go ahead and live in fairy tale land where good to great (much less elite) QB's are available to pay. Just the fact that they had the chance to pay Brock after the disaster of trading up for Lance is a testament that when you find a quarter back you can win with, complete in the playoffs and superbowls with, you pay him.
    • They will still be a playoff team but they aren't contenders anymore IMO. They won't be able to spend like they have when they went to a SB and proved he couldn't carry a win at that level with a really good team around him. Now he is going to have to do it with less to spend around him. They just locked in to being a playoff bound team that's going to be a known speed bump for whoever will represent the NFC in the SB.
    • Hmm. I think he'll live up to it. Last year, about half of his team was on IR it seems, at one time or another. Year before, Super Bowl appearance. Year before that, playoff run after being third on the depth chart and being pressed into service. Is he one of the greatest in the game right now? Nope. No chance of that. Is he in the top 10 going into next season? Pretty good chance of that.  Would 20 or more teams in this league love to have the guy as their starting QB. Most likely so. He's a good QB who can implement his coach's game plan to a T and has both the confidence of and confidence in his teammates. That'll take you a long way in this league if you've got the right cast around you, and he does.
