what is everyones' love affair with golden tate about? brandon lafell is just as good, maybe better when he's really on his game. tate, lafell, and a whole group of other receivers in the draft are all about as good as each other. we got incredible value out of practically nothing in the way of picks.

Yes, backup QB. Matt Moore is still the starter last time I checked.

Btw, good call on trading next years 1st

He was the starter... Clausen is the starter now. He comes from ND which runs pretty much the exact offense (words from John fox's mouth not mine.) and has 3 years of starting experience in that offense. He's going to win the job in camp.....he knows the system and probably knows it better then moore.

Seems to me that if Clausen had character issues he would have never been picked by us. I expect that as close as Fox and Davidson are to Weiss, they do know something others don't. He is young, perhaps a little stuck on himself and whatever, but I expect that he will work hard to show everyone who passed on him that he was a first rounder.

When we picked Lafell I said okay now we have our Moose now we need a speed guy. I wasn't thinking Edwards but he meets the criteria. He can return, catch and throw very accurately. We will have a package for him right away and he will contribute from day 1.

I couldn't have asked for much better really. Sure I would have liked other guys perhaps but honestly they have done a lot more homework that I did and they got who they wanted.

Correction....hes not the starter ...Its Matt Moores job until he takes it away from him. Matt moore has been in this system longer than he has. So None of that jibberish means sqaut

I doubt Clausen starts at all. He will provide competition and push Moore for the job but honestly he needs to do exactly what Moore did, sit down and learn in a situation where he doesn't have to come in and play but can learn. He is not going to be that expensive so there won't be a financial reason to have to start him.

Edwards never returned a kickoff/PR in his life and has little to no WR experience. They gave up a 2nd round pick on a project player hoping he'll learn a whole new position. Not a smart move at all.

They openly said they were trying to trade next year's first to get high enough to take Clausen.

Matt Moore will have to shine quite bright to beat Clausen out. John Fox will make sure of that. Even though Moore is the better QB.

Yeah...taking an athlete that is smart enough to play qb, that is a playmaker with the ball in his hands is stupid. Thanks for showing us you iq. This guy will have an impact this year... on special teams and offense. Steve smith and our receiver coach will be able to coach this kid up.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
