Warren Sapp defends Matt Moore

So, despite the fact that Matt Moore has worked his entire career since HS to become an NFL QB and was given possibly the only chance to achieve that goal that he'll even have in his life, there was no real pressure on him.

Gotcha.

Thank you. Every snap he played was extremely important to Matt Moore, regardless of who the opponent was or whether the Panthers were playing for anything or not. You would think that a former player would understand that. Then again, Rod Woodson was drafted and paid big money as a rookie, while Matt Moore has been scratching and clawing just to try and earn a job and stay in the league.

yeah, every once in a while you will see some of the best ones tap the ball just before they throw it but it isn't very frequent.

moore does it all the time.

it could be corrected but if it isn't it could be a pretty big liability.

well, we have to remember Moore is about as green as it gets.....which people seem to not realize as much sense he is now viewed as a vet. Kid has 8 NFL starts. I wouldn't worry too much about a ball tap......Brady still does it at a pretty high percentage of his passes also I believe. That is correctable.

Read my post from the other day. Jake's last game was against the Jets. The rest of the season Jarrett caught FIVE passes from Moore. FIVE. Guess what? That happened in the last game. How exactly did Moore make him look better? Jake threw it to Jarrett 12 times. Learn the stats before you get smart with them.

Moose was #2, so your argument is invalid there...he could've caught passes from Cantwell because he's that good. But guess who won't be out there anymore? Moose.

Now, if Kenny Moore has some crazy stats during Matt's time on the field I have hope for our WR core. But I sure as hell don't remember Kenny kicking any ass.

We need a vet.

Jarrett was inactive some of those game and did reach the field. Stats dont always tell you everything. Jake could not make Jarrett look good cause Jake was not good himself. The fact is though Moore made the players around him better. Besides if you want to look at stats then Moore's was around Brady numbers the last 4 games. So dont bring that bullshit too me.

i see Moore being traded down the line, Clausen becomes #1, and Pike becomes #2. but i'm talkin' two or three years down the road. don't be surprised if Clausen takes the helm this year though and Moore is traded at the end of this year. just because someone said it would happen, jokingly, it's now going to happen for sure. i said, "Man, watch the f*ckin' panthers pick Jimmy Clausen with their first pick," on the 2nd day of the draft as Clausen began to fall... and look at what happened...

Just pointing out that Moore DID NOT make Jarrett look ANY better than Jake. He threw him passes, as did Jake, and Jarrett caught them. You act like Jarrett was some amazing WR when he was on the field with Moore. Not the case. Losing Moose is going to hurt us if nobody can fill his shoes. This has nothing to do with Moore, this has to do with the talent level of our WRs.

Out of all the potential starters Jarrett intrigues me most. He is going to surprise some people this year.

We can hope. Someone has to step up. It ain't going to be Armani by Game 1, that's for sure. LaFell intrigues me more than Jarrett, but I still wish we'd have drafted a speedster who played WR in college.

Ditto. Hell Banks would have been nice as a UDFA. I really wish the Titans had passed on Williams (one stinking pick before us).

Are you f**king kidding?

Read the statement again...and let me point out your obvious lack of reading skills.....

However, I'm personally tired of solid, "game-managing" QB's. That's what Moore is to me, a game manager, another Jake Delhomme (in his younger days). That's what turns me off, because we don't have the defense at the moment to play that style of offense anymore. We don't have the type of defense where you can just try to grind clock on O, turn it over to the D and win close games. We need dynamic players at ALL the skill positions, including QB. We need to score points, and a lot of them...that's how we will have to win games. To win Super Bowls now, you need a franchise QB. Ravens (Dilfer), Colts (Manning), Patriots (Brady), Giants (Manning), Steelers (Roethlisberger), Saints (Brees), Bucs (Johnson), and the Rams (Warner) were the Super Bowl Champions over the past decade....how many won with a game manager at QB? Only 2, and both had top 3 defenses behind em.

Can you name the two now? Obviously Dilfer and Johnson were NOT franchise QB's, nor did I say that they were.....next time, read the whole statement before you comment.
