RESTORING THE ROAR: Jimmy Clausen (#2) isn't the only quarterback exciting the Carolina Panthers' front office. Former Appalachian State quarterback Armanti Edwards (#10), a third-rounder who is making the transition to wide receiver, shows promise to give the Panthers a slot option they haven't had since Ricky Proehl successfully opened the middle for Jake Delhomme.

its a rather short post, but just curious, what do you guys think. We haven't had an effect slot since Proehl opened the middle of the field for us. I can only hope Edwards is the answer.

I don't know, but if Edwards is even half the asset to the team that Ricky Proehl was, then I'm all for it. Ricky was the best thing since Wesley Walls was doing amazing things, and I for one would sure love to see that kind of production from a receiver other than Steve Smith again!

Let's stop the Randle El and Pat White comparisons.

The majority ofthe time Edwards touches the ball will be because it was thrown to him.

Edwards isn't going to be a gimmick player. He is going to be a WR and probably the best one out of the 2010 draft.

I said it first KRAL a couple of days ago. He will be Rookie of the Year. NO DOUBT

yeah's like ricky proehl... if proehl weren't slow white and awkward...

You do know who Ricky Proehl is, right?

This guy?

Yes, Edwards is arguably more athletic than Proehl, but he's got a LONG way to becoming anything like the receiver Proehl was.

I hope he does, he has a lot of potential, but there's absolutely no need to belittle Proehl's accomplishments.

    • He had a turnover on all three goals he was on the ice for. Plus he had that god awful delay of game penalty. Like legit his GS actually shows he was the cause of the loss and he was only on the ice for 12 minutes. You remove him from that game and the Canes win or at worst go to OT.  Let's put this in perspective, in 12 minutes he directly led to 3 goals against. In the 48 minutes without him on the ice it was an even-steven 2-2 game and that's disregarding that god awful delay of game penalty that led to goal number 4 of the 5 given up.      I don't see how anyone could say that he didn't directly lead to the loss.
    • reality is the piling on of Frank Reich is just the standard huddle angle we take of putting all blame on someone after the fact.   as I was an OG Frank hater before it was cool to be......now the swing goes too far the other way and people will claim me is as a Frank defender.  Frank Reich was the definition of a .500 middle of the road NFL coach.  He technically was a winning coach and above .500 coming here but he is and was NFL average.  we were the biggest joke in a decade.....because they paired Frank Reich (a dude who was going to do what he does in the NFL) with a dude who couldn't do NFL basics and Frank was forced to play him.  That's not Frank being a loser.  That a bad org around Frank.
    • Toronto is less physical than us, and they took them to 7  I really wish they would have won, because we match up better with them, but we have to deal with what we got  What worries me is Svech trying to take out Bob, that is desperation, that's what you do when you feel like there is no legit options left, it's what I feared, Bob is still in our core groups head, and they are over thinking, over passing Hopefully that changes tonight
