How Many Sacks Will The Panthers Have In 2010?

last time i checked the weak-side backer is the one away from the tight end barring only if they use a 2 tight end set then he'll play the right ?

Defense right and left is opposite of offense right and left.

ex. Gamble is our LCB while Smith is our RFL

DE-Everette Brown: 3-8 (7)

DE-Charles Johnson: 2-5 (5)

DE-Tyler Brayton: 2-5 (5)

DE-Greg Hardy: 1-5 (2)

DE-Hilee Taylor (if he makes the team) 0-2 (1)

DT-Tank Tyler: 0-2 (2)

DT-Louis Leonard: 0-2 (2)

DT-Corvey Irvin: 0-3 (1)

DT-Ed Johnson: 0-2 (1)

DT-Backup (Hayden, Landri, or Neblett) 0-3 (1)

LB-Thomas Davis 1-4 (4)

LB-Jon Beason 0-4 (3)

LB-James Anderson 0-2 (1)

LB-Dan Connor 0-1 (0)

LB-Jamar Williams 0-1 (0)

LB-Eric Norwood 0-3 (2)

DB's 1-5 (2)

TOTAL: 39 scks

Though I can see one of the DE's hitting it off and getting 10. Anywhere between 30-40 I'd say is reasonable.

My prediction is Tyler Brayton will lead the team in sacks followed by Charles Johnson, then Beason or Davis. Our LBs our going to have to rush up front a good amount. A few of our dbs are going to have to come up from time to time too, which I hope they do to throw off the offense.

I got Everette Brown getting no more than six sacks. I think anyone who think he is going to land 9-10 is out of their mind; and a complete homer.

Teams are going to run against us, a lot, which will also factor in on our sack total. I don't think we land more than 30, no way, I could see us playing a team like Baltimore and just getting absolutely shut out in the sack department.

Here's my dream season listed in descending order of sack totals.

RDE Brown - 10.5 sacks

LDE Johnson - 7 sacks

SLB Norwood - 7 sacks

WLB Davis - 5 sacks

LDE Brayton - 4 sacks

MLB Beason - 3 sacks

RDE Hardy - 3 sacks

NT Tyler - 2 sacks

CB Marshall 2 sacks

UT Leonard - 1 sack

SLB Anderson - 1 sack

SLB Connor - .5 sacks

46 sacks in total. Remember that's a dream season.

Here is a real danger sign for the Panthers defense, the veteran DT's, DE's, LB's likely to make their final roster have only a collective career average of 14.03 to 14.33 sacks per season!

On the somewhat positive side, the collective total for their best single season sack totals is 29.
