Corbett might not be gone

After stealing as much $$$ as he has from us, he should play for vet min to make up for it.

Wouldn’t it have been nice to have a second year stud at C instead of a RB who’s not going to play next year anyway?

agreed.

Think of the age of that group too icky is like 23, lewis 26, Frazier 22, hunt 27 (don't know ages, guessed). With a icky extended, that group would have been under control for 4 years and tossing DLs out of the way during.

He is wasted cap at this point. He can't stay healthy and they already wasted the cap in his void year. Just like with Shaq, this guy should be gone. Time to trim the dead weight vs dragging it into another year.

Sure Corbett is better than Zavala or Mays but what does that matter if he is on IR?

Zavala and Mays are at least available.

Corbett would be nice depth but he also has to be comfortable being a backup, which he may not want.

Additionally, we have so much invested at OG that it really makes very little sense to have an expensive OG backup, as well.

If he isn't in the cards at center, there isn't really a reason to keep him around.

Considering that Brady Christensen is going to test free agency, retaining Corbett as a veteran body is best for assisting with OL continuity imo. He'll either win the starting position at center, or he'll be a high-level back up that will be touching the field even if it's just to be OL6.

I think most Panther fans are going to quickly see that retaining BC is likely to be pretty easy.

I would make a hefty wager that he will end up with a far smaller deal that Corbett does.

If they can retain both, I'd be so friggin happy. Keep the strength strong.

You think he will get $8 mil????

I gave you a gift with that number, I still think he gets over that.

My guess is like 5years 50million range. That number could break both our brains if a couple teams believes he's a starting LT. Or I could vastly be overestimating his big market...

I am going to say something around $3 mil.

$10 mil is absolutely bonkers.

Not sure you saw that recent ESPN breakdown of the offensive free agents but they had him in the $1-2 million tier for OL(Tier 6).

That's making me nervy, but I stand my bet and gift number.

He will not see the end of that, its for cap purposes. He'd get cut on year 2 or 3. Same for a 4 year 40milliion deal. He's shown mid-level LT&RT play and the whole 2022 he played great as LG.

He's as good as those no-names! Teams have extra money to spend.

    • Well bois, we gave the Devils their due! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... The jersey boys have been trying to jack our steeze for a few years now. They've followed our blueprints and studied our tape. Every offseason, they pounce on our sloppy seconds in a Newark minute. Quick with the puck, ferocious on the forecheck and stifling team defense. Down to the colors, this is this closest we'll come to having to play ourselves in Ole Stanley's Hockey Hoedown. As the postseason began, Rod stood flexing in the gym mirror and saw this guy staring back from the void... (Shutters) When beating us at our game didn't work, Timo and the Tri-State Trash tried to tango instead. Outside of a bitchass cheapshot on Freddie, that poo didn't work either. Their goon squad was getting wrecked by our bantam weights. As much as we all wanted to see Svechy or Staal Bunyan literally break someone in half after the Great Dane went down, they didnt need to. Our munchkins were monsters! Jarvis obliterating giants at the blue line, Logan laying the Stank on dudes twice his size and Blakers blasting Timo into next season. It was beautiful to see! (Side note: Does JBlo wear lead weights under his pads? 170lbs shouldn't be able to hit that hard!) We closed it out in 5, for the gentleman's sweep. Only team in the league to win a series in each of the past 7(?) seasons! And, this was supposed to be a rebuilding year... Onto the awards: Key To The Series : 6 for 19 - .316% IT FINALLY WORKED!!! MVP : 16/180 g/s - .911 save% - 2.53 gaa Seriously, without this dude, we would've won in 3! (Trust me bro) 3rd Star : 6/94 g/s - .936 save % - 1.59 gaa The Great Dane   2nd Star : 3 g - 5 a - +1 - 20:38 toi/g - 18 hits - 3 bs - 58.1% fo 3 PP goals and the 2OT series winning goal! WOOAAAHHH NELLY!!!!   And, your 1st Star of the series : 5 g - 1 a - +3 - 16:48 toi/g - 16 hits - 1 bs - 1 tk - 50% fo Zero, I repeat, zero penalty minutes for the series! MISSSTAAAHHH SVEEECHNIKOOOV!!!!!! Onto The Next: Now, we wait for the Habs to make it a nasty 7 game slog, while we recuperate. And, hopefully, get Nikishin, and some of the other black aces some real peactice time. We are gonna need those guys at some point. Because, if you think the Devils were dirty, hoooo boy, wait till you see what's next...
