French Broad Brewing makes some really nice beers! I just finished a bomber of Wee-Heavy-Er. Love that beer, will drink it all autumn and winter. Now I'm on a Brooklyn Brewery Octoberfest.

Niceness!...Another beer that has tickled my fancy is the Highland Gaelic Ale. Also based out of Ashvegas NC I believe

Edit: Googled it, and found out its across the river from my house. I have found my homer beer!

And I know I've said it before, but the Sam Adams samplers are great ways to introduce yourselves to styles you might not otherwise buy. I think the winter sampler might be out. It has the Boston Lager, Holiday Porter, Old Fezziwig Ale, Chocolate Bock, a White Ale and maybe their light lager as well.

This was my most recent purchase. Chocolate bock, the fezziwig and the holiday porter are what I have tried so far. All were delicious but the porter was my least favorite. I guess I'm spoiled from the scottish one at front street brewery.

The other two are right up my alley though. dark, smooth and flavorful. Also had sam october at a bar last night. Its on tap at quite a few places right now. I had quite a few of them.

Anyone here ever tried White Wolf Golden Ale ? - brewed in Farmville, NC.

Any ratings / comparisons ?

I wasn't familiar with it, but here are some reviews: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/17206/43124

As someone who lived in Asheville for three years, I'm really jealous of you guys. I love the beer scene there, amongst other things.

I like the Holiday Porter and Fezziwig, so I'm excited to try the Chocolate Bock. Good to hear that you liked it.

Last night, I had my first taste of Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout. If any of you guys are bourbon fans, you have to try this beer (though it's a bit hard to come by -- I think it's released in March).

After that, I switched over to some bourbon and had Elijah Craig 12 Year, neat.

I know we have that big general beer thread somewhere in here, but I gotta say, I just tried RJ Rockers Bell Rocker Ale and holy crap that is tasty. Straight outta Spartanburg, SC.

Anyone else have good regional recommendations? Basically from the Carolinas and select fews in Georgia & VA :dupe:
