Defensive Coordinator

Dave McGinnis: LB coach for the Titans, former Cardinals head coach, and an old acquaintance of Fox from their days facing each other in the pre-realignment NFC East.

There are other good possibilities, but he's the first one that comes to mind for me.

I don't really know much about him, but do you think Fox would let him bring in his own defensive philosophy?

I'm afraid that no matter who we bring in we'll still see soft zones and a 4 man rush without the personnel to do so.

McGinnis ran aggressive defenses with the Cards. He was in line for the Bears head coaching job at one point. Knowing how the Bears organization likes their defense played, that should tell you something.

If the position comes open, don't be surprised to see at least one or two recently fired guys interviewed (perhaps Gregg Williams or Bob Sanders).

    • New season new teams. Everyone we face has improved their team as well. There's now a full season of tape on Canales's offense and Bryce running it. When they win 7 games I will become a believer.
    • I mean I think its a bit disingenuous to call basically anyone here a casual fan. I don't think the casual fan creates a profile then logs into it, in the offseason, to comments on mundane offseason topics.. I dont think anyone on here would be considered a casual fan. That said, I get your point. My POV is from the player. They sign this contract, move their family because of these contracts. When Clowney came him, we basically had a coming home party for him.  So yeah, I get why we did it and I know that ultimately the owner doesnt 'save' money, but I can feel for the human side of the player, which is why I want them to get all they can while they can.
    • My guess is the NBA will either send Flagg back “home” to the Northeast in Brooklyn or Washington, or San Antonio so that they can keep building around Wemby. If I was a betting man I would take the odds on the Spurs. This definitely feels like a #1 pick that they will rig.
