Panthers bringing back Tremble

And every idiotic contract we give out half the fan base celebrates it like the organization has earned their trust by consistently fielding good teams for years. It's pretty bizarre. Fandom Stockholm Syndrome.

On the brightside, he’s not Ian Thomas.

Greg Olsen spoiled us. Ian Thomas was the most hated panther and he’s gone. We sign someone we drafted in a mid round to continue his development and it’s like we gave him top of the market money. This isn’t really a needle mover but definitely isn’t a horrible move.

They were gonna let him test the market, then gave him a stupid deal before the market even opened.  What are we doing?  There's no way this FO is gonna be able to build a winner.

I don’t think this is really that deep. This is literally chump change.

Would Howie Roseman give Tommy Tremble 8mm guaranteed and call it chump change?  Get outta here.

If you wanna throw a fit and punch a hole in the drywall over Tommy tremble signing effectively a 1 year 8 million dollar deal then go off king

it ain’t that deep

It's not chump change for a team already cap strapped with holes all across the roster. You can get a Tremble level player on the waiver wire after final roster cuts. That's why this is a stupid signing.

I’ve liked Tremble. For some reason though, Ian Thomas was always in ahead of him.

He produces when he’s on the field. See him as a good locker room guy making progress and still oozing potential.

Not an argument.  But if you just want to throw insults around to people that disagree that's fine too.

The cap is literally a myth

    • He makes a good point about Wallace.  In fairness to Wallace it is hard to play your position as freely as you need to when your defensive line is getting pushed around like ragdolls.  One of the greatest attributes a defensive line has is sucking up blocks, freeing up your linebackers.  Our defensive line couldn't suck up a lollipop more or less blocks.  I think Evans, Sanders and Tremble are going to be a really nice TE group.  I can see all three getting time on the field.  If Sanders can improve as a blocker teams won't be so inclined to believe it is a pass play whenever Sanders is on the field.  Ryan Fitzgerald, I think was an awesome pick-up. Hopefully he can fill our kicker void. Luke Kandra many turn out to be our next Norwell.  Everything I have heard about him says he's a beast.  He needs some refinement, but the good news is he's got Hunt and Lewis (arguably the best guard tandem in the league) to learn from.
    • Great teams build through the draft and have several young players that start that are on rookie contracts. It's important to hit on players in rounds 4 thru 7.  These should be future starters and solid depth.  When you hit on most of your picks you free up a lot of cap space for those one- or two-year players to fill spots you are thin at. No GM is going to perfect on all their picks.  You're going to whiff every once in a while.  That was Hurney problem.  He'd nail the first pick but after that it was reach after reach and we couldn't get any depth on this team. I'm excited about Morgan as our GM and hopefully he'll be around a long time.  It will be even better if Canales can continue to grow as a head coach, both in the development of young players and play calling. I remember last season after Young came back in the lineup and started to perform well.  We saw different plays I had only seen other teams use.   If Canales's play design and play calling continue to grow. Morgan and Canales will be linked together for a long time.  It would be nice to see a Coach and GM together for a decade or two. Go Panthers
    • They also came out for the encore and the singers were dressed in canes jerseys. Pretty fuging cool.
