5 BOLD Panthers Predictions

By the way. we are the youngest and the most inexperienced based on games played by the starting lineup. Even teams like Detroit have a much more experienced starting roster.

What they lack in experience they make up for with spunk.

Our 11 starters on defense have a combined number of game started of 314. 2 guys- brayton and Gamble account for half of those starts (Brayton 78 starts, Gamble 88 starts). 5 starters have 10 or less.

So the average of everyone is on defense is 28 games started.

On offense the combined total is 356 starts. 3 guys account for 278 of those starts (Smith 100, Wharton 74, and Gross 104). It means the other 8 starters have an average of 9.75 starts or less than one season.

Compare that to any other team and it will be significant less.

They've got a lot of vets on that team, bringing in guys like Julian Peterson and Vanden Bosch will raise the age and experience of the squad by quite a bit. Then you throw in a Nate Burleson or a Dre Bly and you get every more. I personally prefer the way we're setting things up, through the draft. The odd free agent here or there is good, but I don't like when they become mainstays in your team and are mixed in with young guys. Go young probably 90% of the roster, watch them grow, then when they all get old repeat the process.

Oh, and I saw in the article you mentioned something about Atlanta really improving their pass defense this season, I respectfully disagree. Dunta Robinson is a nice player, but he is in no way in the upper echelon of top corners in this league. Just ask a Texans fan about him. He'll lockdown a receiver, make an incredible play then for the entire next series or two he'll disappear. He isn't consistent enough to make them dramatically better.

These are good. Maybe not all that Bold

Jonathan Stewart Will Get At Least 10 Pats on the Back - Agree

Matt Moore Will Start 16 Games - Disagree only because I disagree with #3

The Panthers Will Be In the Playoff Hunt Until Week 17 - Hope so but Disagree

The Panthers' Rookies Will Impress - Agree if Fox lets them go for it and stay loose

By Year's End, the Panthers Will Have a 2nd and a 3rd Receiver - I don't understand

Well, what I was trying to say was that they certainly won't be as low as 28th in pass defense this year. He is a very good CB and I expect them to be improved much more than the other pass defenses we will face. I am not saying they will be even in the top half of the league though.

    • Jack Roslovic: Only 2 other UFA, right-handed centers age 28 or under had more points (39) than him- Sam Bennett (51) and Pius Suter (46). There were 4 other centers age 33 and older who scored more: Gireaux (37), Marchand (37), Tavares (34), Granlund (33).  Unless the Canes go old, if they let Jack walk, they won't get a center who scored more.  Thoughts?
    • nope     This is why we come back every year.  Hope springs eternal
    • It's important to differentiate criticism and hate. I can't speak for that individual you quoted. But most people who have been critical of the Tepper's have been so because both of them have made it a point to put themselves front and center and in the middle of team operations and we have been largely horrific more often than not as a result. If people are making derogatory remarks about her that should be met with an appropriate response but if people are being defensive just because she's being criticized all I can say is people should get used to it. Both her and David would have been getting absolutely skewered by the media and the fans if this were a big market franchise. The Lakers are finally being sold off after years and years of public criticism of Jeannie Buss and even though I'm the furthest you could go from being a Lakers fan just about anyone you could meet who is familiar with the NBA would say the criticism was certainly valid.
