You really can't help but think the only way a guy like Everette Brown would be effective is as a 3-4 OLB, like what they're doing with Maybin in Buffalo. Obviously we have nowhere near the bodies capable enough to play a D-Line in the 3-4 so that puts it out of the question.

As for Connor moving to the middle full time, seriously, do you honestly think Connor will perform better at the Mike than what Beason did?

Also, the LBers in a 3-4 are a different breed, and tend to be bigger than the smaller guys ya see more often in a 4-3.

Also, this isn't about Conner being better than Beason. It is, if Conner plays as well as most scouts pegged him, coming out of college, than he would be very good MLB. If he lives up to that, then Beason, Conner, and Davis would be our best 3 linebackers, and to get them all on the field, and play them to their strengths, Conner would remain at MLB.

let's just worry about this season if any thing we have learned is that meeks system puts the wlb in postion to make alot of plays. we will scheme to put whomever is on the field in postion to make plays. don't see us moving fulltime to the 3-4 but we could use it in packages to keep teams off balance

Beason prefers the MLB, and he should, considering that a top MLB gets more money than an top OLB. The easy way to resolve it, is just Panthers just pay him like a top MLB, regardless of the position they play him at.

Dwight Freeney is a once in a lifetime player, I can't believe you even just tried to compare the two. Brown also would need to put on another 10 pounds to equal Freeneys size and weight. And as a comparison, in Freeneys rookie year he got 13 sacks, year two 11. We'll be able to properly judge Brown after this upcoming season, which I expect will be another let down, and see the 6th rounder in Hardy dramatically outplay him. I still can't believe we gave up a future first for a 3-4 rush linebacker :mad2:

I hope he makes me eat my words though, for the overall health of the franchise.
