2010 Season Outlook

The fact that D-Willy finished "only" 13th among fantasy rushers last year -- a season after being fantasy football's MVP -- is misleading. He barely played in the final five games of 2009, and had seven touchdowns in eight games before getting shut out in the season's second half. We love the guy's explosiveness and particularly his vision, which may be the best of any NFL running back. He's a great player. The fact is, though, that Jonathan Stewart stole double-digit carries even when Williams was healthy, and was a fantasy superstar while Williams sat late. We're assuming Carolina will split carries relatively evenly between the two in '10, which will hurt the value of each. Williams is coming off ankle surgery and is headed toward a contract year in '11, and if the Panthers struggle, there's a chance they could deal him. It's likelier that both guys exceed 1,000 yards rushing and split between 15 and 20 scores.

Maybe because it didn't seem like an issue that would carry over into this year (thats why I didn't remember it).
