Wow been a panthers fan for a while just joined the forums.(From back in Kevin Green days)

Ok im a Jimmy Clausen fan.......Waits..............

I know hes not god like The Golden Calf of Bristol(haha)or the 2 coming of brees like McCoy but jeez sum hard feeling towards the rookie. So I was at fan fest and I know I was not the only one there to see if the rook can pass.He looked decent he can throw the ball for sure.

But yes this is Matt Moore's team he earned it but lets not trash our rookie so bad.

So if your atleast a lil Clausen fan speak up lets hear it.

(And yes i gave Matt respect)

In truth, anybody who's a real Clausen fan ought to be pulling for Matt Moore to be successful for at least the next two or three years.

The Steve McNair/Aaron Rodgers path to success tends to be a better way to go than the Kerry Collins/Mark Sanchez route.

i'd say the peyton manning route worked fairly well. it's all in who you pick to make your example of.

how do you know rogers wouldn't have been as good if he started right away? the had favre, that's why he didn't start right away. we don't have a first ballot hall of famer to sit clausen behind.

would manning have been even better if he had sat for 4 years or did that 4 years of experience on the field help make him as good as he is today?

As has already been said there are plenty of rookie quarterbacks that turn into superstars in the NFL. The notion that clipboard experience is better than real game experience is simply not true. It may be better for the team, or it may not be there have been examples of each.

Moore deserves to start season, IMO, that's what he has earned. But to repeat what I said earlier, Jimmy Clausen playing in 2010 does not necessarily mean the Panthers suck, it just means that Moore sucked. No use for some to question the loyalty of fans that are simply excited for this kid.

the guy was a overhyped punk in HighSchool, an over hyped punk in College. He shows up at ND talking a bunch of poo and never came close to living up to the hype.

He is a wasted draft pick by the Panthers.

He went three years without losing a game in High School...

an over hyped punk in College. He shows up at ND talking a bunch of poo and never came close to living up to the hype.

As an individual he lived up to most of the hype. His Junior season was gross it was so good, and he did a bunch of it while battling injuries. His touchdown to interception ratio was one of the best in the country.

He is a wasted draft pick by the Panthers.

How can you say this when the season hasn't even started? Blind hate much?

    • Bryce and Dave will determine how many games this team wins next year. It’s not on the WRs. The RBs. LBs. This is about 2 things: 1. Can Bryce continue to come up big in the few key downs that decide most games?  2. Can Canales evolve his play calling to counter punch like the big boys do. Half time adjustments.  teams that score 30+ points on the regular win more games than not. That’s on Bryce and Dave. The offense is top 10 at every position group, save for TE and QB. A baller TE is gravy but not crucial when the receivers are dudes.  The defense is the defense. It’ll be better this season, hopefully by a large margin, but Dave/Bryce is really where it’s at.
    • Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with this. But I feel like teams figured out this offense after the Raiders game. Bryce was so inept the first 2 games that we couldn't really even run the offense. Dalton's first game showed what we had. But after that game, coverages got a lot tighter and windows were smaller. When Bryce came back in, his ability to extend plays made a big difference. It's really difficult to stop a QB that can beat/escape 1on1 tacklers. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you blitz. And he was completing throws in tight coverage with anticipation. Point being Bryce wasn't throwing to wide open receivers that were schemed open by the offense. Occasionally yes. But not often.
    • With the additions we've made to our roster combined with the state of the division and the conference as a whole there is no excuse for this team not to make a legitimate push for 8-9 wins. Anything less is honestly inexcusable. There will be no more free passes for being a doormat in this iteration of the league where even mediocre teams are competing for playoff spots.
