Tuesday Roster Moves: Davis to PUP, Wright and Taylor to IR

Edwards is a lock for the team. So is Gettis if you ask me. They would not have used him on the 1st team as much if not.

I want that to be true as much as you, I'm just not getting my hopes up for Gettis making the team even though I'm a huge fan of his and have been wanting this since we drafted him. And yeah Edwards is more likely to make the team than PS, but its still a possibility.

Because Moore has made some plays this preseason and, believe it or not, he had 6 catches for 90something yards last year. At the very least, you can trust him to line up properly and run the right route. He's also a pretty good blocker.

If you understand how the PS squad works then you know there is no way Edwards goes there. If we place him on the PS at any point in the season a team wants to add him to there roster they can... We gave up way too much for that to happen. With Gettis seems like he may be about to contribute at the end of the year and he will be grabbed up also if put on the PS.

You shouldn't be amazed by either one of them, but just remember that Moore put up his numbers after having to work his way up from the bottom of the depth chart, and he has only played in 12 career games, with 1 start. Jarrett has been given every opportunity to start from day 1 and has played in 29 games in 3 years.

Gettis will be on the team this year, as a project with tons of upside, making our roster will make him that much of a better player by the end of the year. He would get snatched up on the PS quickly.

You're right, I'm not completely knowledgeable how the ps works, so I'm assuming by your response your pretty good with it...So you've pretty much convinced me that both Gettis & Edwards will be on the team. 100% chance. I'll take your word for now. We'll see what happens

All im saying is that nether is a great bet. You cant really say Im wrong on that ether. No one fears a WR by committee and thats what we have right now. I pray that the lights go on fast for LaFell and he pulls away from both.

Don't forget the panthers do have a history of signing others PS players to our own active roster. Matt Moore for example. Might happen with a Wr this season

Because you can't just cut an injured player.

The Panthers may work out an injury settlement with Taylor in the next few days and then waive him. Regardless, Taylor has played his last down for the Carolina Panthers.

Edwards will be. I hope Gettis will also but knowing how our staff works we will put him on the PS and he will get grabbed up and do very well somewhere else. While we wait for Jarrett and Moore to develop.

You can't honestly think that Guy and Gettis have more potential than DJ? DJ has comparable size, speed, strength, and hands to Anquan Boldin. Seriously. He is just a dumb ass that can't get it together. But the potential is definitely there.

Guy and Gettis are run of the mill, dime a dozen players. Guy is this year's Larry Beaver, a speedy, undersized WR that will forever be on the fringe of someone's roster. While I do see a decent amount of Drew Carter like potential in Gettis, he isn't going to help this year when the Panthers are going to need WR help.

Hate on DJ if you want because he is dumb, unassertive, or downright lazy, but don't claim that he has less potential than an UDFA scrap heap pickup like Guy.

Opening Day- DJ will be the #2 WR for the Panthers. Bank on it.
