Terrell Hudgins, Elon, and cut by the Cowboys earlier this week.

3 catches 57 yards in 1 preseason game for the Cowboys as much as anyone else on our team has done in 3.

NCAA Records:

* 207 Combined receptions in one season (FCS record)

* 395 Career receptions (all NCAA Division I record)

* 123 Receptions in a season (FCS record)

* 8.8 Career receptions per game (FCS record)

* 5,250 Career receiving yards (all NCAA Division I record)

* 116.7 Career average yards gained receiving per game (FCS record)

* 28 Career games gaining 100 or more yards receiving

(all NCAA Division I record)

* 1.2 Career touchdown passes caught per game (ties FCS record)

* 34 Career games with a touchdown reception (FCS record)

* 4 Career 1,000-yard receiving seasons (all NCAA Division I record)

Can he not at least get looked at?

I wanted us to grab Shipley in the 3rd, he's going to be a very good player in this league and is a high-character guy. That's the ONLY receiver we really missed out on and I think Lafell and Edwards will develop into good players fairly soon. I think some people are expecting too much from rookies.

Any word on why they cut him? I mean those numbers are fine for a rookie. He has to be better than Sam Hurd right?

Just too many receivers I imagine, he went undrafted and was easy to dump. Austin, Williams, Bryant, Crayton, Hurd, Holley, Ogletree, all been there 1 year+ so hes just the first to get dumped.

    • It is heretical language to some.  We casual types can say it, we are just dumb. When Cosell says it they probably go looking for their pacifiers and blankies.  Second consecutive week he dished that out.  I wonder what it will be on the review this week.
    • I love how everyone is acting so surprised by this, it's actually pretty comical that it's a shock to anyone. This is how it is in ALL sports.  It's the same reason we were in tight games last year against teams like KC and Philly.   I'll bet the same people surprised by this right now are the same ones who thought those games were the proof that Bryce was legit and this team wasn't far from being in contention. Teams have down weeks, whether it happens because they're playing a weak opponent so don't think they need to take the week as serious or because a team just got too big headed after a good streak of games/wins, it just happens. There have been very few teams who have ever been 100% locked in every week, you're talking about 2007 Patriots or 95-96 Bulls type of teams there. Hell, just look at the Bills this week, there was no reason for them to lose that game and they got blown out.  But sure, we're the franchise with the culture problems because a few guys got their head over their skis this past week.
    • TBH, we won't know unless they say or some people get benched. It's pointless to even speculate. The greater point is that the coaching staff is allowing it to happen. So much for a "Leadership Council."
