My biggest concern is the way he floats the ball. Absolutely no zip on it. Its like he lofts it up in the air and wants it to float away ever so slowly and short of the receiver. He's had this issue since he began starting for us, yet no one mentions for some reason.

is anyone watching the Packers/Eagles game? Look at Aaron Rodgers play. The guy has his eyes constantly shifting across the field checking every read. That's what makes him so good.

I liked Moore last year but he seems like a different player this year. I noticed it in the preseason(I also saw Clausen doing the same thing) that every play he stared down the receiver. I knew who he was going to throw it to the second the ball was snapped.

Yea I noticed that.... I was very impressed, every play you can constantly see his eyes shifting through his progressions.

"...3 ints in the red zone..."

Please allow me to further clarify- 3 interceptions in the end zone.

If you would take further notice and look a little closer, you'd notice that Moore only "floats" the ball when he's throwing to anyone not named Steve Smith. His throws to Smith today were made with conviction, a solid throwing motion and had all the velocity you'd want on the ball. The first pass was perfect, the first smoke route just as good and the TD pass was as good a pass as Jake ever threw in all his years as a Panther.

But, as was the case throughout the preseason, Moore seems to be a half second late on his release and looks as though he's trying to make the perfect toss every time instead of letting his instincts take over. He made some horrible decisions today and he made some good passes- he just didn't make them on time. How many times was the ball already past when LaFell turned to find it? How many other times were receivers seemingly waiting on the pass instead of coming out of the break looking for it?

It's pretty obvious to me when you look at how he runs the offense when Smith is the intended target versus when the pass is going elsewhere...

Not hoping injury against anyone but i for one do hope that Clausen is our starter. Moore looked lost in the preseason and completely lost today. He is not going to get much better, we've seen this before. Clausen is the future.. lets get something going because i for one am not resigned to giving up on this season already!

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
