funny what a coaching change and an active FA period can do for your team

I can't believe how patient that Jones has been with Wade Phillips. That guy is just plain incompetent. Everyone always jumps all over the Cowboys' jock in the offseason, but as long as simple Wade is on the sidelines, I won't ever expect much out of them.

wade is alright, i mean he actually won a playoff game with the cowboys last year

It hasn't even gotten them a win in week one yet.

"Premature" is the keyword for a major portion of this board.

If you're talking about the outcry about the Panthers, I don't think there's anything premature about it. We've been witnessing this same brand of lifeless sludge for the last several seasons. There's no "it's just preseason" excuses, no "it's just one game" excuses to throw out there. This team is the same as last year, and the year before that...a gigantic waste of several talented football players, making up an team with inept leadership that looks lost half the time.

It is just one game.

If there's one thing I've learned in nearly forty years of watching pro football, it's not to overemphasize week one results.

And no, this isn't the same team as last year. It's a very young team, devoid of many of the vets we had last year, and they looked like it out there today.

Yet somehow, the results are shockingly similar. Making two great defensive plays, then giving up 3rd and long. Multiple 3 and out punts. Strong run defense, lost secondary. Horridly predictable play calling. Run up the middle, run up the middle, incomplete pass. Drives that stall in or near the red zone, leading to FGs. No half time adjustments. I don't care how you dress it, this is the same brand of garbage that the Panthers have consistently put out on the field. Looking forward to another 8-8 season with a sub 20ppg average.
