Questions from an Eagles Fan

I want to start by saying that Jake costs us the game.

But, there are a ton of good things happening here for the Cards.

A lot of people are talking about their explosive play on the defensive line as of late. They held Turner+ Norwood and J Stew+D Will to an avg of 68yards per game. Thats pretty impressive. If you keep the Eagles offense off the field and that defense stays fresh they are very dangerous. This is what happened in the Atl game(2nd half) and the Car game.

Another strong ponit is Rodgers Cromartie's play. He is a freakish athlete and was a high draft choice so I am not surprised at his play. But most of the year he was regulated to nickel and dime play because of his rookie and injury status. The guy showed up big against Smitty and was huge in disrupting Delhomme. The guy is a ball hawk, don't throw his way.

Having said both those points, you guys matchup well with their defense: Eagles don't really run and are great pass blockers so the first point is almost mute. The Eagles also spread the ball around not using just one receiver, so the 2nd point is almost point. Cards have allowed the most reception TD's to a RB this year. Philly is the best at that. I see lots of screens this game.

Ariz offense? This should be interesting. A lot of Eagles recent success comes against run first teams (MIN, NYG). JJ loves to put in a 4-3-4 in run situations to setup a long 2nd and 3rd down and drop into his nickel and dime blitz schemes. Arizona is not a run first team so I doubt JJ will come out with a 4-3-4. And if you come out in Nickel and Dime Ariz is not afraid to run anymore. If Philly can stop the run in their Nickel and Dime schemes I think its over, Philly should be able to score easy.

Delhomme was off. Trgovac was off. After the first five possessions, Coach Fox got really nervous, and the whole season imploded before a national audience, because of Fox's inability to lead. By the middle of the second quarter, the rank and file of the coaches and the players became entwined in their own version of Lost or the Twilight Zone. It was a total system breakdown. There is no way that a playoff contender could do worse.

Quite simply, the Eagles defense is, for the most part, as hard as nails. Donovan McNabb's off games are akin to Delhomme's normal games, but when McNabb turns it up he is as good as any QB in the NFL. McNabb and the Eagles are highly motivated. They will show the Cards for who they really are, which is a slightly above average team that is really not to be feared by the top echelon of teams in the NFL.

as much as I'd like to see the Cards get some redemption for Larry Wilson, Werhli, Hart, Lane, Metcalf, Lomax, etc, I've felt the Eagles were the hottest NFC team rolling in besides the Panthers (but I did fear Jake laying an egg).

Eagles/Steelers SB, and I think Eagles.

Boy! You've really gone old school.

I used to live in St. Louis. I had a Jim Hart autograph somewhere. Larry Wilson was solid. Terry Matcalf used to be able to shake and bake like nobody's business, but fumbleitis diminished his career.

You brought back some childhood memories, I'll tell ya.

Hi Panther Fans,

Sorry about your loss to the cardinals, I really wish that we were playing this game in Carolina for the rematch, but stuff happens.

I had a few questions about this cardinals game. I am over seas and didnt get a chance to see your game.

1) By looking at the stat lines it looks like the Arizona D had a great day, however looking at the stats doesnt tell the entier story. Cardinals fans are posting how their team dominated on both aspect of the ball. Is that how it happened? Or was it pure bad qb play

How good does is this teams secondary? I see this game different than most. all keep saying how the eagles d needs to stop this high powered cards offense. I see the eagles giving this cardinal team fits. we played the vikings and giants and would say that both of those defenses are much better then arizona. Am I right?

Thanks for your reponses in advance

I am kind of with you on this....I am not worried about our "D" holding that offense in check ...they should show up and win the game for us like they have been. That stagnant offense that shows up at times is what worries me. Especially with Westbrook really banged up (more so than usual). We should win this.......but Carolina should have also. I am still pissed of that game is not here in Charlotte.....E-A-G-L-E-S..... EAGLES!!!

Since your not the coach and I am a realist I will let you know the only way we lose.

1.Our Special Teams unit is the weakest link.We consistantly give up great field position.Wouldn't surprise me if Jackson runs one back.If he doesnt you must capitolize on field position.

2.You keep our DEFENSE on the field. As you saw against Atlanta in the first half. The dink, dunk and run will keep the chains moving and the Defense on the field, but in the second half the Defense was rested and our offense kept our defense off the field and rested and that equals problems for any team we face. Rested Cardinals defense = PROBLEMS.

3.If we have to play from behind and Warner gets anxious and that is when he starts messing up.If you believe BLITZ,BLITZ,BLITZ Warner will find the open man and gun you down.

When you double FITZ you leave another 1,000yd reciever is "WIDE OPEN".

Well Cardinal Fan

you are to be comended for being a knowlegable football fan. There are not many of you that are. I cant stand your board, there is no talk. Its all about how bad Eagles Fans are .... Its a joke.

This game worried me a little bit in the beginning of the week. Im not so worried now. I think that our offense is going to win this game for us. The Cards have answer for westbrook and a 10 lead finished off the running game for the cards.

30-17 Eagles

    • okay I found this and it sounds like my hopes for the first surgery being not such a great job seems like it could be actual reality.  I only hoped because that would give a better chance for recovery and ia a possible scenario so I just thought it could be possible. Had no real evidence of it. But I’ll be damned.    This is a detailed report of Brooks’ surgery and the condition of his knee after the failed repair.     https://x.com/jmthrivept/status/2055743129408704806?s= Sparked by some very good questions by @CoachspeakIndex, here’s some info on Jonathon Brooks: 1. Speculation that the first graft/ACLR by Dr. Cooper didn’t “take” or at least was too lax, leading to failure and re-tear. Brooks dealt with issues cutting, progressing in his rehab into the early stages of 2024 and then re-tore it late 2024, requiring a second ACLR in January 2025 (essentially revision). Notably, CAR prolonged Brooks’ rehab process through Sept-Oct due to issues progressing into the next stages of rehab. 2. Second surgery performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who has extensive experience with revisions. He did a double bundle technique, harvesting graft from Brooks’ left patellar tendon and a strip of his right IT Band (his right patellar tendon had been utilized for the prior graft in 2023. The double bundle technique significantly increases rotational stability of the knee, leading to a stronger and more secure graft/reconstruction. Also to note, Brooks’ surgery wasn’t significantly delayed, meaning that the tunnels from his prior ACLR were in good shape and they didn’t need to perform bone grafts to fill in (would have delayed 2nd surgery by 5-6 months). Essentially, reading the tea leaves tells me that everything else except for the graft itself was still in good quality within his knee. Good sign for future.  3. Typically, you see a performance increase anywhere from 16-20 months post-revision. Brooks will be ~21 months out from his second surgery by the time Week 1 hits. His knee should be more stable and stronger this time around, with adequate time for healing and return to all movement patterns. I’m not viewing this situation as a typical “Player __ had TWO ACL tears, he’s cooked” situation. Rather, I’m viewing it as the first procedure failed, but the second procedure is significantly stronger and should allow him to return to form this time around. I don’t know why it posted as a link but there it is.
