it dosen't matter moore would have had to throw 3 tds in each game for him to keep his starting job.....seems like they had there mind set ahead of time anyway...yeah he sucked but far from what delhome did for 3 years

don't think he would have had to do quite that much but he is not part of the teams long term plans(just look at the grin on hurney's face after the draft)but neither was bress but he kept rivers on the bench by playing smart

Sometimes changing something like footwork or throwing motions can make a huge difference, at least earlier in the QBs career. By the time they get to the pros, they've developed what works for them, if they haven't then they won't make it past the college level.

At the pro level, the QB needs to be almost in a state of Zen for best results, they can't be thinking about where they are putting their feet or how they are positioning their off hand during a pass. QB is already the most complicated position to play in sports, giving a QB something else to think about on every down can't be very beneficial at the speed the game is played.

Not true at all. Everyone has coaches who change things up and make adjustments. Athletes tend to develop bad habits and often need to work on their fundamentals. Even when things are going well, they make adjustments and try to improve. You are right that they shouldn't be thinking about hand placement or their footwork in a game but that is what practice is for each day. They should be doing the same motion or dropping back with the same footwork until it becomes automatic and they can do it without thinking. The game is simply the place and time where you demonstrate what you have been working on for hours every day in practice. Not the place where you are making adjustments in your mechanics.

It was Moore's job to lose. All we had to do was win the last 2 games and he is still the quarterback.

The mindset varies depending on who you talk to. Richardson is go cheap. Hurney is building for the future. Fox is trying to win now to pad his resume. Not everyone is taking a long term approach and with a new coach on the horizon, things might be very different in a year or two.

Neither is Fox part of the long range plan. Which is why he is pulling the trigger on Moore after 2 games. If Clausen struggles he may pull the plug on him after a few games as well.

Ok seriously? Not to start a huge flame war here but come on guys...Jake AND Matt were nothing more than back-ups and practice squad players before coming to the Panthers...we have never had what was perceived as a top tier QB under the Fox regime! How in the world can you say we ruined them? We gave both QB, that wouldn't have had any opportunity anywhere else, chances to play! Jake did ok for a while but we can all agree, Smitty bailed him out soooo many times...and Matt, well...

Take delhomme, most of us can agree, in his early years, he was a decent QB, i mean we did get to the superbowl, and he created lots of plays. Then over time he got worse and worse and worse...QBs are supposed to get better and getting old has nothing to do with it!

Then look at moore, he came out throwin some balls, made some good plays, and now after a summer of intense focus by the QB coaches in carolina...HE sucks...

DO me a favor Carolina QB coaching staff.....

Dont Teach Jimmy Clausen ANYTHING......

no. dont speak...just STFU...you already killed 2 careers.

What do they teach you at the Coffee Shop?

yeah and if jimmy starts blowin they call for his head also......moore is definatly not the main result of both losses but he did play a part in them.....secondary,o line and play calling played a good bit.i really can't see clausen doin better with the same problems as before....which is sad because our fo decide to go this route....all im gettin at is 2 games....really two....now i was all for clausen starting agaisnt the bucs because of the concussion moore took but losin the job after two games doesn't sit right.....i dnt see how were expect to score more then 14 points per game witha broken down running game and ss the only wr threat(score all our touchdowns this season i think)...i hope clausen proeves me wrong though

    • I do think the rating is fair given how this unit hasn’t proven it with production. I understand you have to rank off production, not potential. However, our unit is also in a position to make this rating look foolish a year from now. We have 4 guys in the WR/TE room who all could legitimately take the next step this year, and catapult our rank. A guy under a lot of people’s radar after we took Tet, Jalen Coker. Mark my words, he will become the star of this room, and be the heir to Thielen.
    • Exactly. You’d think 2-7 wins a year (in a 17 game season no less) since 2017 is going to keep us bottom tier. Every year we say the same poo like we haven’t been a bad team the past 7 years. Until we prove we aren’t a bottom dweller, that’s where we’ll stay ranked. God forbid we have OL injuries like 2016.
    • What I love and hate about this team is it’s more filled with potential breakout players than ever before. JT, XL, Coker, Smith-Wade, Ikem, Trevin… and even Bryce are all guys I could legitimately see taking the next step. But the problem with having so many of those guys is that team success somewhat relies on them taking that step, and some are bound not to. That being said, I’m cautiously optimistic given our softer schedule, the way the offense clicked late last year, and the direction we finally have at GM, coach, and QB. Could see us as a sneaky playoff team.
