Theory about DJ

Watching NFL Live just now. And Trent Dilfer was talking About Brayon Edwards. He said when he played with him in Cleveland and right before he was traded to SF he told the FO in Cleveland that Edwards is a great guy and talent, but he is not wired right. He is not wired to love football, he is wired to love what football can bring him.

Could DJ be the same way? As long as he gets his money is he contented to be a bust?

Fwiw, I don't think our coaching staff has any understanding when it comes to drafting or developing receivers or quarterbacks. Primarily because they have never done it. Hopefully, we got lucky with Clausen although I think that Fox is not likely to be around long enough to watch Clausen get better.

The coaching staff, no matter who it's consisted of over the past 8+ seasons, has never shown an ability to develop any skill position players. Every skill position player this team has been lucky enough to get has come with a level of talent that needs little developing or coaching.

And add running backs to your list. Sure DeAngelo and Stewart are both excellent running backs, but they are still putting the same level of talent on display that was there a few years back.

Don't always agree with him, but I actually think Dilfer is one of the smarter analysts there is.

And on this one, he may well be right.

He is right on this one.Edwards is still on probation from his relations with panther55!But panther55 tried to drop the charges, but you know how those scorn women laws are!

    • You would hope so. I’m confused why the sports world seems split on Bryce when he’s obviously not working out.
    • So let’s do the reverse? Make everyone agree everything he does is a disaster? I also think the whole “gaslighting” is on the eye of the beholder. It went from he can’t avoid one single sack countered with he actually did that well Sunday (with data backing it) to a little breakdown of why he is so bad. People are going to have different opinions. I’m also not going to pretend this wasn’t happening Day one with this little QB.
    • All this great stuff he has done, how often does he do it?  I have it at three or four games out of 14 where he was very good and then you get a drive here or a series there where there are some good things. Here is the gaslight part: everyone has put him on a curve with his first year the baseline, neglecting to understand how bad he was then. Even if he comes back twice as good, where does that really leave him? 25th ranked or thereabouts.     He had so far to go, and still does, it is a Major ‘settle’ to accept his play as worthy of giving him our future.  You want to settle when the Bucs have Mayfield, and the Saints have overtaken us at QB? We will be third in the division at QB. That is good enough for y’all?
