Wide receivers are already here.

when presented with evidence that runs contrary to their beliefs, people will typically doubt the evidence, or even go so far to doubt empiricism.

this is one of the many vestigial traits which allowed us to more easily organize ourselves in the early stages of our existence.

In my opinion, I do believe that we have enough weapons already on the team to become a dangerous threat. I find it hard to believe after all these years, that Steve Smith is the only threat we have at wide receiver. I believe a lot of it does have to do with the playcalling and the QB play. I believe the issue is the coaching staff not focusing on the player's abilities.

Ok, with Steve Smith we use his elusivness and speed. We have plays designed for the man and he definitely takes advantage of it. How about we use Jarrett's big body as a strength? Watching just this year, I notice that Jarrett been open on a lot of plays but that tunnel vision our QB of late had, seems to eliminate the man out of the picture. What am I saying? First it starts with playcalling. Can we please stop being so predictable? I remember the first week of the season how the commentators are talking about how by looking at our formations, opposing teams knew exactly what we are going to do. Ok, I understand execute plays a big roll. I am just tired of watching other teams using "no name" receivers and lighting up the other team. Sad thing to notice if we didn't have Steve Smith, we would have not have scored an offensive touchdown since last year. The talent is there folks.

How about this concept? The better offensive play we have, the better defensive play we would have? Ok, missed tackles are not helping us but if our offense and actually move the ball that would give our defense some rest. I , for one, am excited about sunday. I do have to remind myself that Clausen is a rookie but I do like what I see. I want to see him move the ball around and take what the defense gives us. I have a good feeling about the game but O-line we have to give the kid some time. Short dump off pass plays would be nice too.

just trying to make it easier to read.

summary:

we have plenty of weapons to make us a threat. hard to believe that steve smith is the only receiving threat.

coaching and playcalling is the problem, not making the best use of available players.

we use smiths abailities and design plays around them, why not draw plays around jarrett's body size?

we need to stop being so predictable with the playcalling.

other teams do well with "no name" receivers, why cant we?

if it weren't for smith we wouldn't have a TD since last year. the talent is there.

better offense would help make better defense.

excited about sunday, likes clausen.oline has to give him some time. short dump plays would be nice.

Fox does seem to be doing a lot of experiementing this year= youd think he would have ended it after the preseason games but hes still at it - trying to figure out a group of guys that can give us a w
agreed. lots of playing around. that in itself gives me a little bit of hope that they aren't satisfied with losing.

it could be worse. we could be stuck week after week with the same guys we started out in week one seeing the same thing with no hope of things improving.

i know many have already given up but as long as they are still noodling and trying to figure out what works, i will have a shred of hope that they will find it.

this message was brought to you by a farting unicorn. suck it.

I agree with what rayzor said but to be fair no name receivers doing things usually come from a somewhat decent qb play. We have not had solid qb play when it mattered in so long, hopefully some good plays can be called for Clausen and the oline hold up for more than 1 second. I hope to see the TEs, especially Gary get to work with Clausen. Probably wont happen though.

good QB play makes everything look better. no name and bad WRs look mediocre. average WRs look good and great WRs look elite.

if clausen is up to his hype, we will see better performances from everyone. he might be the catalyst to get everyone playing at a higher level thats what he's supposed to do. he's the field general.

matt ryan's first year they shouldn't have done nearly as well. that oline should have played like crap because they essentially were crap, but they elevated their play to a higher level because they bought into what ryan could do.

i don't think it will take much for the players here to buy into what clausen can do. once they do we should see things turn around quite a bit.

First play Jarrett beats the corner on a slant but the ball is thrown behind him. 50 seconds Jarrett is open against the Giants over the middle. 1:15 open against Arizona. 1:45 he beats a NO defender.
