We'll win on Sunday, and not because of Clausen

He'll help, of course, but I believe that this Sunday we start getting to the QB on defense. It almost happened against the Bucs, but Freeman is a lot younger and more mobile than Palmer.

No one's talking about that side of the ball, and it makes no sense to me. Benson's averaging 3.2 yards per carry. Palmer isn't setting the world on fire and when he gets hit he gets happy feet. This is going to be a defensive struggle, and we have the running game to bring it home in the fourth.

It's all on the D, I think they know it, I think they're ready, and I think they win it for us.

Cincy Defense is pretty good. Clausen will have to be on his toes and get the ball out quickly. I still think our secondary needs some fixing. Goodson doesnt impress me and Marshall is blah. You can tell the difference without Harris. Fix the secondary and we might have a chance.

Clausen I like how he scans the field I just hope his delivery is quick and smart.

it's possible. the bengals passing game isn't really clicking like it should with 2 big time WRs there pus a slot stud like shipley is capable of being. their run game is pretty bad as well. they're only getting just over 3 yards per carry. they've also only had one more TD than us.

palmer has only been sacked once and considering who they have played, thats not too bad at all. it could be taht they've just played some really tough defenses and ours is the break that they have been waiting for.

we should have had a sack or two against the bucs but freeman is pretty quick himself and he isn't a tiny guy at all. he'd be pretty hard to bring down if you were able to catch him.

i'm hoping that the speed of our guys gives palmer a bad day and that beason really does knock the crap out of 85. hopefully the defense will step it up in a way that they've been unable to do so far.

Week 1 vs Pats

38-24 loss

Team Leaders

Passing:Carson Palmer 345

Rushing:Cedric Benson 43

Receiving:Chad Ochocinco 159

also only 5 yards in penalties in this game

week 2 vs. Ravens

15-10 Win

Team Leaders

Passing:Carson Palmer 167

Rushing:Cedric Benson 78

Receiving:Terrell Owens 57

56 yards in penalties this game

strange huh?

Biggest differnce without watching either game is the turnover battle.

In their away loss to the pats they had 2 turnovers and the pats had 0

In their Home win their d created 4 turnovers and the offense gave up 0

It only makes sense for the Bengals to stack the line and attempt to shut down our run game early.

On offense, since their run game sucks, It makes since for them to challenge us to a shootout with their stud recievers against our young secondary. Were gonna have to be quite creative on d, since baltimore and new england only mustered one sack against them combined

Damn squirel your right about our secondary,<from other thread; our secondary is weak > but we really need a pass rush to help return to what we are use to. I only say that because your small mistake made me think you can replace goodson with munnerlyn, godfrey or gamble right now thats not a good look. But will see if we actually tackle CP get a little momentum maybe get a lead and then get at em.

    • Wow, just looked up some stats, yea... Olsen stands no chance. What would everyone say about Zach Ertz's chances at making the HOF? Exactly, nobody would even consider it a possibility. Olsen played in 31 more games than Ertz did, but is only 595 yards and 7 TDs behind Olsen's numbers.  And while Olsen has the 3 straight 1k seasons and Ertz only has 1, they each have the same number of seasons with more than 800 yards and Ertz's high season is slightly above Olsen's. A repeat of last season for Ertz, playing in 17 games with 654 yards and 7 TDs would push him past Olsen's yardage, tie his TDs, and have done it in almost a full season less of games played, while also having a SB ring. Olsen being the first TE to have 3 straight 1k seasons is pretty much the only feather in his HOF resume's cap, and unfortunately that won't be something to even get him consideration in the end.
    • I actually think that as long as he has a solid camp and makes the team (which is more likely than not), that Horn will have a bigger role than some expect, because he really is just different than any of the others. Most #6 WR's won't even be active on game days, let alone get any snaps.  But his speed/agility is unique compared to the rest of the WR unit to where they're going to have plays in the game plan every week to utilize him.  Even if at times he's just out there as a decoy to keep safeties honest by having him run some go routes, or putting him in motion for play action to force the defense to react.
    • That's... a wild jump to a false equivalence. If my boss called me and asked, "Why do you think you ran into issues with this project?" and I think it's because I took it easy on a routine part of the job that I mistakenly thought I had perfected/mastered, I'm telling the truth and getting better. Sounds like your industry/company is garbage and full of turnover if they don't let people grow on the job.
