I thought Clausen looked good...

While A.J. Green would be a no brainer pick up i doubt we get him, i see us getting an all-pro defensive tackle. we could use upgrades at the DT spot, WR, Tight End (imagine if WE had Gresham), O-Line Guard, and finally cornerback since it looks like marshal is gone and if we get an injury in the secondary we are SCREWED.

I wish we had our 2nd round pick so we could get kyle Rudolph more than likely with it and use the 1st rounder on A.J. Green. Get whoever is the best CB in free agency, and draft O Guard in the 3rd round. Finally, get two big DT's in free agency. Super Bowl team bitches.

I dont see a DT worth taking in the top 5..

I thought Jimmy looked bad today. Worst I have seen him yet.

FACT: Jimmy had two expectations coming in today. To paraphrase Fox, provide a spark and jump start our offense, do better with this same team than Matt.

FACT: He failed at both of those things. Our WORST passing performance yet. NO PASSING TOUCHDOWNS! Jimmy had 0 Touchdowns and 1 interception.

Ultimately isn't that the point?

Would you rather him lob three passes into the end zone for interceptions?

In the second half:

15/26 for 154 yards

Moore got worse every game as it went on and Clausen showed MARKED improvement in the second half.

Seriously though, are you off your rocker? You think this was our worst passing performance this season?!! Worse than Matt Moore throwing 3 INTERCEPTIONS IN THE END ZONE AGAINST THE GIANTS?!! Moore also fumbled twice in that game. 3 picks and 2 fumbles. This game was 1 pick and 2 fumbles and we got better later in the game.

In the Buc game Moore had 1 TD 1 INT and 1 Fumble again. He also completed just 6 of 16 passes.

I don't care who we put in at QB we are still going to be a bad offense. The o-line just doesn't have it together. Field position hurt us most of the day as well. I though our defense played okay considering the ridiculous amount of time they were on the field and the great field position Cincy consistently started drives with. My hats off the the cin. punter. He killed us time and time again.

At halftime I said he looked terrible. Worst QB performance i have ever seen. he was like 2/7 with one INT. In addition he missed 2 or 3 wide open guys (seemed to have a problem with trowing low...glove?)

Looked decent in the 2Q. I'm not going to say he looked good because any other team with his performance would be angry. However for a first start and compared to what we have seen the past 2 years it was promising.

I look forward to watching him develop

TD or run, the way they are scored doesn't matter.

Clausen had a decent day for a rookie, not great, not bad.

I'd rather have neither. But that's just me. Since when is it ok to be ok with poor performance just because the alternative is also poor?

You said this is the worst passing performance we had all year and we have pointed out that Moore's game 1 was far worse than this. There is no excuse for 3 interceptions in the end zone along with 2 fumbles. You flat out said today was worse than that and that was far from the truth.

people expecting more out of a rookie in his first start playing on a team that hasn't got it's crap together are living in a fantasy world.

he looked like crap the first half but who really didn't expect that might happen?

once he settled down a little in the second half he looked a little better. i just want to see improvements every week and i have no reason to believe we won't.

there are a lot more problems than jimmy in there but i know that he needs to stay in there and take his lumps and keep moving forward.

no one believed that clausen coming in would fix everything right away. it's just going to take time but it will be worth it.

still, i'm looking forward to getting a new coach in here.

You just argued against yourself. Matt showed improvement from one game to the next.

Another fact: Matt and the team improved last week compared to the first week. The team did NOT improve with Jimmy compared to last week. The passing is worse.

His passing % isn't so much better than Matt's to compensate for the lack of a touchdown.

    • Yeah, I could jump right into the unbelievable Bryce debate now that some people are trying to flip the script because Bryce Young has, at most, a handful of decent games as a pro, but that's going to work itself out. Suffice it to say that I've seen better QBs (with an s) in a Panthers uniform, and I've certainly seen better QBs be drafted while we're playing around with Bryce, one of them who beat the crap out of us already this season... Let's forget about Bryce (and his markedly underwhelming play since he's been here); I think that most sane fans will agree that drafting him was an error, but it happens. Sure, it doesn't happen to the tune of King's ransom---including your main receiver---but it happens. You bet, you lose. Speaking of receivers...and betting and losing... Oh, man, we drafted Xavier Legette. Yes, just like with Bryce, I've entered "the dark side." Some Huddlers were telling us from the beginning, and they were right. But, I'm not apologizing for waiting to see what a guy's got before making my decision on him. X was a one-year wonder at South Carolina who parlayed some really nice production that season, a great personality and thick country accent, into becoming a first round pick (but only in Carolina). For Dan Morgan and company, He was a big swing that has turned into a big whiff (and I can still feel the ill breeze from that one). Sh¡t happens, right? Well, not so fast. Ladd McConkey was the decidedly more polished receiver who was literally ready to hit the ground running as soon as stepping onto the field as a pro. Ladd was never the biggest guy (though not the smallest), but he was the guy that could run routes, always seemed to get open---no question---and had the same speed as X, but with legit quickness and nuanced shake and bake. But Dan chose the project. He chose the guy where the game speed looks more like a tractor trailer than a 5.0 mustang. Look, I've supported X (just like Bryce) many many a day, but no more. Now I'm not saying that I won't root for the guy. Just like with Bryce, he seems like a great kid. But as far as giving excuses for the kid, and, perhaps more importantly, waiting for some miraculous breakout, I'm done with that. I've seen enough. You don't draft a project for a project. And yes, Bryce had proven to be a project after his first season. In my mind, drafting a supposedly number one receiver that needs lots of development for a starting quarterback that needs immediate help to try and further his development is not going to lead to good things. Pick the surest guy. Or at least pick the one who appears to be the surest guy, because picking can be tricky... especially when you're too busy tricking yourself.
    • Winning ain't gonna make my eyes lie to me. Context matters, and it will always matter in the game of football.
    • That TD pass to Legette against Miami. Elite. The play where Bryce rolls right to buy time until Tet can reverse field.  Bryce pumps as multiple defenders close in.  He barely gets it away before he takes a big time hit.  Beautiful off platform throw and great catch by Tet.   The second TD to Tet against Dallas where Bryce dips and turns his shoulder in to evade the pass rusher.  Resets and finds Tet in the end zone. Dude embodies the Keep Pounding mantra.
