I thought this was pretty interesting...it seems to me that he is getting tired of the way this offense works. I thought the same thing during training camp when he made some comments on the NFL radio interview. He has gone from super competitive to disgruntled.

I don't think Smitty is disgruntled, just frustrated. People have to remember for about a four year span, Steve Smith was our offense. You can give me all that Fox wants to run crap all you want, but from 2003-2007 Smitty was all we had. Remember when we played Seattle in the NFCCG and they put two safeties, a CB, and a LB underneath on Smitty? Quadruple coverage.

As the game slows down for Clausen and he starts to trust his instincts more, and our OLine gets their poo together, you'll see Smitty have glimpses of his formal self, because the D will focus on double trouble.

It'll be too late, but once we start clicking we'll go 6-2 in the second half, which will put us at 7-9 for the year.

Kris Jenkins being out of shape and having 2 tackles and then having the gall to call out his teammates as being soft and having no heart in a locker room interview is much different than Smitty saying we should learn from last years game against a good opponent by not backing down if we get up. Not even close to the same.

That being said, Smith was obviously speaking rhetorically, because there is no chance in hell we get up 17 on the Saints, unless Brees goes in for a biopsy for that poo on his face and can't make it until the fourth quarter.

It would be absurd to trade him for these comments. Any respectable player that wants to win could be expected to say something like this. Especially when it's been the same offensive issue for 2-3 years. Richardson is just as tight with Smith as is with Fox.

I'm glad to see Smith take on Fox more openly!!! Hope this helps change the minds of those fans out there that for some reason still like FOX????

I sure wish Smith got at least one ring before he is done. To bad it might end up being on another team I think!
