Jimmy Clausen is a bust

I think it's absurd to say Jimmy is a bust this early but it's just as absurd for people to say he's going to be a good QB. He has a terrible QB rating thus far (even in preseason games).

He's yet to play a good game, so this thread makes more since to me than most Jimmy threads, but it's still too early to tell.

I don't get why you're trying to defend him. Anyone who saw him at Notre Dame knows he doesn't have the tools to be a franchise QB. If you're not gonna have arm strength you could AT LEAST be accurate. Too bad Clausen fails at that too. He's just a hype machine cause he played at big time programs on the HS and Collegiate level. He's got NOTHING.

We'd be better off starting Tony Pike RIGHT NOW. Unlike Clausen, Pike actually showed he had NFL potential in college and didn't throw a bunch of lollypop jump balls because actually has an ARM.

If Pike isn't the answer, then we just need to accept our mistakes and get Andrew Luck. I guarantee Andrew Luck is going to a great NFL QB just like Mark Sanchez. Those are 2 guys with REAL talent. Unlike this fugazzi Clausen.

If we have a top 5 pick what do you propose we do? Draft a WR? We're gonna need a new QB anyway most likely.

I GO to ND, have been to many games and I can tell you Clausen is the best passer ND has ever had. ND wins 3-4 games at the most without Clausen over that 3 YEAR PERIOD.

    • "I'm not stunned," Hansbrough said. "We talked about it at halftime, you asked me 'you have to be pretty happy.' And I said, 'No I've seen this story before.' I've seen this happen. They just had some lapses in games where they just go still offensively, defensively. Their competitiveness just drops a little bit. They never step on anybody's throat. When they have a team with a little bit of a lead, they never step on the throat. It's been something all year." The only disagreement I'd have with Hansbrough's assessment is that it's not limited to just this year. It's been Hubert's entire tenure. Hallmarks of Hubert's teams are: streaky shooting, streaky focus, running your starters into the dirt because you won't sub, and absolutely embarrassingly bad plays put of timeouts. It all points straight to the coach. When the roster keeps changing but the core fundamental issues keep recurring, it's not the players.
    • Leafs are broken. Out of the playoffs and Matthews done for the year.  It's either a very dangerous game against a team who doesn't give a fug and will leave it all on the ice, or a team who's thrown in the towel with an effort to match. And, yes, I'm sitting in the Miami Airport waiting on my next flight. Will be back in Lenovo both 28 & 29 for the b2b.
    • I’m guessing this counts as top 30 visit.
