The Most Important Week of Football For the Panthers this Year

Things to Watch For

1. If the Packers win by virtue of Arron Rodgers only with no help of a running game,or lose barely b/c of no ball control due to no running game

2.If the Redskins Win and show they can make a run for the NFC east title if they only can get the running game going

3.If we lose...jimmy regresses..kerry collins has a great game..we get blown out at home

If these things happen 3 being the most important..EXPECT to see D-Will gone in the next 2 weeks......count on it!!

I think everyone needs to make their peace with the fact that DWill and Steve Smith aren't going anywhere. What is it with fans of this franchise wanting all of its best players gone? I understood Jenkins and Peppers (they didn't want to be here). But DWill and Smith make zero sense. Williams is the only consistent threat on the team that can get his touches with minimum effort and Smith is the only WR we have. Don't really get the whole mindset of "lets trade them for 2nd and 3rd round draft picks only to draft Armanti Edwards again..."

after the season there are 2 teams that will be willing to pay D-Will for what he is worth if not more...if the packer situation happens they will go for right now to get him b/c if he gets injured or doesnt pan out there is no loss since he is a free agent next year...same with the redskin and their situation...the panthers wont be will to have 2 high paid RB they know he is going for max money next year...if all there situations happen this sunday d-will is gone....but if we win and show promise..that may convince the panthers to ask for alot or deny trade requests and may wait till the end of year and see if they want to franchise him or let him walk.............and sorry i didnt mean kerry collins...had him on my mind was reading a blog about him b4 starting the thread..it was about him, kris, pep playing against the panthers after leaving

I would not be surprised that between now and the start of the 2012 season that either Williams or Stewart will not be here. In fact that one, would shock me if they are both here.

I think Smitty stays unless he demands to be traded. Only way he leaves if he forces himself off.

So if the Packers and Redskins show they can win without DeAngelo Williams, they'll trade for DeAngelo Williams?

can win....but need a better running game to make a real run at a conference title for the skins...superbowl for the pack

    • yeah, but the actual jersey Bryce Young is wearing is not the same jersey you are buying from Fanatics.
    • i just feel like i read this he says she says poo all the time over & over again  on the internet  TV  work ,in public & then i think back to myself oh what a sick slandermongering world we live in now. ts just like those National Enquirer magazines you find in the grocery store at the checkout counter which are nothing more than complete & utter BS  & more often than not when you assume something then you make an ASS out of U & ME. so chill &  let the courts do their job & if he is guilty well he is guilty  LOL either or this has nothing at all whatsoever to do with Carolina Panthers football
    • Former league executive and current NFL.com analyst Marc Ross recently named his top second-year breakout candidates for the upcoming campaign. Ross includes Legette, who may be helped out by his team's latest first-round selection. He writes: Legette had a slow start to his NFL career, catching 49 passes for 497 yards and four touchdowns last season. Some of the struggles can be tied to his own growing pains -- he had eight drops on 81 targets, according to Pro Football Focus -- but he had also had to navigate the quarterback shuffle between Bryce Young and Andy Dalton early in Dave Canales' first season leading the Panthers. Canales recently said he believes Carolina has a DK Metcalf-like talent in Legette, who had foot surgery this offseason but was cleared to resume work in early April, and that having a full offseason alongside Young, who took a significant step forward in 2024, could lead to a breakout result in 2025. I anticipate it will also help that Carolina invested another first-round pick in a wide receiver, Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan, to complement Legette in the pass game. McMillan's presence, however, could take some pressure off Legette—who may be able to roam around in a more natural playmaking role. With the 6-foot-4 All-American likely to take on the bulk of the volume from Young, Legette should have some cleaner shots to break out downfield and in the box score.     https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/05/06/panthers-wr-xaiver-legette-top-breakout-candidates-2025/83475176007/?taid=681a4610ede05d000149b376&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter
