i mean , i understand the ppl spending a poo ton of money this season and getting bad product being mad, but im rreally looking forward to the fact we can buy out half the NFL free agents next season with our cap space -_-

How many significant free agents have we signed in the past 4 years. Didn't happen then, won't happen now. Going with the draft is the euphemism that we are still going on the cheap.

my opinion won't change about him. he's a smart man that makes sound business decisions. he takes a look at the big picture that some people don't like because it effects them in a negative way for the moment.

at the very least, what he has done has made the team ready for a new coaching staff to come in. they will have lots of cap room to play with and quite a few draft picks to work with (we should have at least 10). thanks to how poorly the team is going, the value of most of those picks are very nice (just silver lining there). those picks can be used to trade for decent players to come in if we don't want to use them on a bunch of rookies. considering the price that WRs are going for, a really solid receiver can be traded for without giving up too much on our end (if we still need one at the end of the year).

the key players will get new deals and those players that don't really work into the new coaches system all that well will probably only be on one year deals anyway. it won't cost to get them replaced.

hopefully we will have found some very nice value players that will take advantage of the opportunity they have been given (like james anderson) that will make it less difficult to rebuild the team and free up more money for FA acquisitions.

the only problem i see is marty hurney. if he is still around and is still convinced that the best and only way to build a team is solely through the draft then we are screwed. hopefully the new coach will have some input (which he should have more than fox this year because fox is a lame duck HC).

HOw many folks here who are PSL owners like what Richardson did and have a high opinion of him right now.

I would be interested to know because they are the ones who have paid the money and have a vested interest in this.

For those saying it is great and this year doesn't matter, have you got a dime in it? If not then your opinion doesn't really matter in my book.

How embarrassing for an owner in that group to have a winless team.

They all wish they had PSL deals which makes Richardson less vulnerable to people leaving en mass. That way he can still screw over the fans and not worry about a backlash. I bet they wish they were him so they could line their pockets like he is with few repercussions.

"if you aren't a PSL owner, your opinion doesn't matter"

nice.

if you don't like being a PSL owner, then sell them off. iuf you don't like the risk of every once in a while having a poor team fielded or the prospect of having a losing season every once in a while then you shouldn't have bought them in the first place. i'm sure you wouldn't have a hard time selling them. just do yourself a favor (and all of us who have to hear your whining) and be rid of them. if you hate the owner so much and don't like what he's doing with the franchise, then why in the world would you want to hold on to such a God forsaken piece of property such as that?

there's only one reason that you are in the mess that you are in if you aren't happy about being a PSL owner and that was because you put yourself there.

just because u might not be able to afford PSL's or live too far to own some doesn't mean u are less of a fan and can't complain. That's a little bitch thing to say.

Quite frankly, the owners are terrified by the idea of the player decertification. It would open them up to a billion anti-trust lawsuits they wouldn't have a chance of winning.

The NFLPA feels the player's only chance of success in "negotiating" a new agreement is to disband and decertify, then to sue their bosses!

If that doesn't tell you which of the two parties is desperate I don't know what will. It ain't the owners who are flenching, my friend.

I can't wait to hear the player's supreme court sales pitch...."Oh your honor, I'm such a victim! Those evil greedy owners want to take away my guarantee that I get 50 million dollars, whether I play good football or not! And they want to steal 2 weeks of my 5 months of vacation! You can relate to that, your honor. Right?"

I keep reading that Jerry has "positioned the team well" for a lockout. Help me understand why that's the case, given that he wouldn't have to pay player salaries during a lockout. Is it more accurate to say that he's positioned the team well for a new CBA, and if so, why is that?

It would more likely position the team better for after the lockout.

Since they dont know what the cap will be in a new CBA, signing players now could seriously handicap a team when the new CBA goes into affect. Essentially they dont know how much money they will have, or not have to spend.

I completely agree.

Just because you don't own a PSL doesn't mean you don't contribute to the Panthers as an organization. I buy merchandise, watch their advertisements, goto almost every single Training Camp practice (because I live so much closer to Spartanburg than I do Charlotte), and I follow the Panthers religiously.

Does that make me less of fan than someone who owns a PSL? Or, does it mean that I'm a poor college student that can't afford to break out my wallet, make the drive to Charlotte eight times a year, and own a PSL?

    • After Bountygate and the information that came out on the Saints owners shielding pedophile priests in New Orleans it will forever be the Saints numero uno for me. FUG THE SAINTS! I hope this is just the beginning of a long term period of suffering for that shitty organization run by even shittier human beings. #2.Pats/Belicheat #3. Falcons (Mike Vick years then Matt Ryan/Julio running it up) Ryan pooping his pants and 28-3 def makes my bad days always better just thinking of those. #4 Pretty much any franchise fan base thats obnoxious Steelers, Eagles, Bills, Jets, Giants, Cowboys, etc.
    • Thank God DM used that #8 pick on a bona fide WR1 and not some bum pass rushing prospect like Stewart or someone else. I believe Tet is legit WR1 material and going forward will be our long term answer at that position since we desperately were in need of one once they traded away DJ Moore.  Tet could possibly end up even being better long term than someone who I respect a ton as a WR in Moore. Evans has been a pleasant surprise and great TE/FB depth piece going forward who could make the most of his opportunities.  Any good offense worth a damn in the NFL has 3 TEs that can do multiple things and being scared by Ian Thomas play for years should makes us all appreciate what Evans is quietly doing as a ROOKIE at one of the hardest positions to learn at the pro level.  Keep cooking DM. This season is not over obviously but seeing some growth out of young talent finally is a breathe of fresh fuggin air for once.
    • Saw this show up in my new feed. Nice to see a couple of our rookies making it into the top 5 so far, even if it is a pff measure... From https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-top-15-rookies-week-9-2025 ... 4. TE Mitchell Evans, Carolina Panthers (78.7) Evans struggled in the Panthers’ tight win over the Packers, finishing with a 41.8 PFF overall grade — third worst among tight ends this week. He was not targeted in the game and played only one snap in pass protection. He did log 15 run-blocking snaps, and although he earned a 68.9 PFF run-blocking grade in zone looks (seven snaps), his 39.0 mark in gap schemes (second worst for the week) dragged him down to a 46.6 PFF run-blocking grade overall — sixth worst for the week. Despite seeing zero targets over his past two games, Evans still leads the Carolina tight end group with a 74.3 PFF receiving grade. He has caught all nine of his targets for 90 yards, six first downs and two touchdowns. Evans also leads the Panthers’ tight end group in PFF run-blocking grade (72.2). He has recorded a 20.5% positive play rate across 175 snaps.  5. WR Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers (78.6) McMillan had a better day against the Packers, recording four catches for 46 yards. Most of that production came in the first quarter via two 16-yard catches — one of which he snatched from Carrington Valentine’s hands, who was in perfect position to break up the pass. McMillan accounted for three first downs on the day, although Green Bay was able to limit his impact after the catch, holding him to 0.8 yards after the catch per reception. McMillan now has 41 catches for 558 yards — a top-15 mark. He is also tied for second with 19 explosive gains of 15-plus yards. Three of McMillan’s catches against the Packers came between the numbers, bringing him to 22 for 318 yards and 19 first downs (tied for second most) this season. He owns a 26.1% threat rate and a 76.6 PFF receiving grade between the numbers. He also ranks in the top 10 in explosive gains (10) and yards after the catch per reception (5.5) within that area of the field.
