Observer: Could one win lead to a streak for the Carolina Panthers?

Fun Fact: The Panthers started 0-5. No 0-5 team has ever made the playoffs.

:(

Sure its fun to think about, but the realism in me says other wise.

Maybe not, but the 1970 Bengals got to the playoffs after a 1 - 6 start.

We have a lot of talented players on the team that really want to win and they seem to try hard, but the fact is that this is not a very good team right now.

That could change and if it does there will be some excitment as the young guys start to mature and develop. I hope that what we saw against sf was a breakthru performance from our wr/qb but I'm not ready to even think about playoffs. I just hope that we get competitive and can build on it next season

I think we are better than we look. With the exception of the Saints where we played ok, all of our losses this season had the same problems:

-Terrible field position

-Terrible special teams

-Terrible receiving

-Terrible QB play

-Terrible play-calling

-Terrible O-line

-Average-Bad running

If we just improve from terrible to average or ok in every one of those categories it will make a HUGE improvement in the team overall.

Honestly as bad as we played and with as many turnovers as we had, I'm surprised we didn't get blown out in every game. It crazy we were as close as we were to winning some of those games when this team played so freaking bad.

Yeah and this past Sunday was just that...the team stopped being terrible in all areas. It wasn't just Matt.

We had better field position, we didn't turn the ball over as much(though we still turned it over more than the 49ers so there's still lots of room to improve there), our passing game was a different beast, our special teams played well, got us some returns and Lloyd got us some touchbacks, our play-calling was spot-on most of the time and certainly more agressive.

Our O-line and run game still sucked. Our D still seems to let the big play get away, even though other than that they are stellar and we still had a negative turnover margin.

If we can keep up the improvements next week that we showed this past Sunday while we continue to improve in the areas we are still bad in...it's easy to see why this team as a positive outlook and how we can continue to improve. There really IS lots of room for improvement. Especially the run game. We have GOT to get this going.
