Hey Steve...

He's been back two weeks and he has 2 drops, 2 fumbles, and an idiotic 15yd drive killing penalty. I'm fine with him returning punts, but I don't believe he's done anything with that that Munnerlynn can't do.

Once again though, if we had an OC who knew how to use them, our WR's would be fine.

You need to initiate some offensive rhythm early in the preseason that will transfer over into the regular season, we never had the chemistry and it's definitely showing now....

Tyring to beat out the cowgirls for the 1st overall pick might be tough, but that's what we have to look forward to now.

I think Smitty has lost a lot of valuable practice and playing time due to injuries, which has led to a decline in performance. I believe with all my heart that he still has the potential to be great.

Don't know that I completely agree that Smitty has regressed so much as I think that it is the offense as a whole that is completely off rhythm and it's deeply affecting his performance. EVERYONE involved with Panthers football is to blame. And that includes the likes of JR on down to the friggin waterboy, and everyone in between( Fox and Davidson cough, cough). Our team looks to be, by far, the worst prepared team in the league on gameday.

However, to get back to your original point, I do think that Stewies apparent regression is partially due to his lack of practice and preparation in the pre-season. It really does look like he's running through molasses and has lost a step, plus he doesn't seem to be shaking tackles like he used to either. Obviously Stewie (or DWill for that matter) is not totally to blame for their lack of production, it doesn't help that our OLine sucks sh*t and that our passing game is virtually non existent to anyone who doesn't play defense for the 49ers.

    • For a 3rd year QB? That flies with the Teppers and makes the HC and GM look like fools.  Their fear is evident. Their careers are tied to making it work, it's ehy they signed on here and they are professionals who knows what kind of a situation they could potentially have on their hands if they are not calculating about popping up Bryce. I call BS to that sir. It's why every QB after Bryce couldn't make any other rosters past a PS spot...at best
    • Not just Dalton.   But the only real young arm they would let be seen the past 2 years was a really a bad Jack Plummer.  Who was super weak even for that tier  Can’t convince me how weak they made the atmosphere around Young hasn’t been intentional.
    • Things of note: mentions he has six drops. Six. For all the people that don’t know what a drop is, he has six. That’s a long distance from the league leader at ten. (To be fair, pro football reference has him at seven, still not bad.  Plenty of others is that same range.  His drop % is 6.3, which is low.) Catchable ball success ratio: 83% which is great. Catchable being the key word.  Mentions his contested catch rate is low at 5/18 but that’ll get better I think when he can rely on muscle memory for routes, catches, etc and the game slows down for him
