Peyton Manning refuses to sign an extension with Colts

There was speculation yesterday that that was one of the reasons he didn't want to sign yet... if there is a new CBA there may not be a franchise tag and he would really become a UFA. Can you imagine the contract he'll get if he was a true UFA?

I bet some team would give him 10 years 150 million or more...

Hells yeah, Manning here we come baby!!!

JR is a genius. The whole "veteran purge" was just a disguise to clear enough cap space to be able to offer Manning the biggest deal. hahaha f**k you Cowboys, he's coming to Charlotte!!

Guess we'll need a decent veteran backup just in case Manning goes down. Favre is gonna be available I think. Manning and Favre, yeah seems pretty decent depth chart there.

Don't really need Clausen then, though. We can just trade him to the Bills then for the #1 overall pick so we can get both Patrick Peterson AND AJ Green.

This is sooooo happening. Anyone know where I can preorder my Panthers Manning jersey?

Who needs AJ Green? We are going to sign Randy Moss this week. As for Quarterback, we can sign Donovan McNabb to be Manning's backup, he would take less money for a chance at a ring. Last big acquisition will be Haloti Ngata to shore up the defensive line. Since Indy will need a quarterback, we can give them Armanti Edwards for a 2nd rounder.

Not too sure on McNabb. Guess we could have him as the third stringer behind Favre. Ngata would be nice. Moss would work too but we could still use AJ Green as a 3rd receiver (you know Manning loves those 3 WR sets).

Sounds like a plan. Now all we need is AKPantherFan to start a petition to get this ball rolling.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
