Thanksgiving is almost here!

What's everybody doing?! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I mean it's a little tough to get past the irony of giving thanks for all we have and stuffing ourselves with food until we pass out, but still at least the meaning behind it is there. Seems like fasting would be more appropriate but hey, we're Americans, we won't give up eating for nobody!

I'm having two Thanksgivings. Sunday some of my friends are coming over and we're going to roast a turkey over the fire pit in my backyard. My friend has done something similar before so I'll let him do the bulk of the work but I'll be in charge of making sure it's a big fire ;)

Then Thursday with my family. How bout yours?

We usually have 2 Thanksgivings. One with Dan's dads side of the family on turkey day and one with Dan's moms side of the family the Saturday after. I usually go visit with my parents on Thanksgiving day for a little while but not to pig out.

I would really love to do a prime rib instead of a turkey this year. Turkey is not one of my favorite things & to eat it I have to smother it in gravy.

Best part about Thanksgiving beside eating too much and passing out.

Drinking beer outside while deep frying the bird.

Deep frying the turkey is the only way to go.

I'm with you guys on the deep-frying. I'll be hitting up all the family dinners (mine and my wife's), and then the following Saturday I'm going to have some friends over.

We'll deep-fry the turkey with some cajun seasoning, and there will be plenty of good beer on hand.

Got about 30 family members coming into town b.c my uncle has ALS and everyone has decided to come here for the holidays for the past couple years since its really hard for him to travel.

Im so fuging pumped. Wake up, breakfast w/ bloody mary/mimosa bar in the kitchen, nap, wake up again, smoke, drink some more, eat tgiving dinner, drink more with all my cousins and relatives, smoke, pass out.

wake up next day and do the same thing over again cept without all the turkey.

wait a month and do the exact same thing over Christmas.

    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
    • It was always a matter of time with Cam’s playing style and a shorter shelf life than passers that protect themselves. I suppose Cam could have still been playing in 2028 ten years after the hit took place, but he would need to have evolved as a quarterback and become more of a passer than the dual threat maestro he was. It’s sad because it makes us think of what could have been, but I do feel it was always a matter of time until all the hits took their toll.
