DT is a desperate need

As bad as the entire offense has been playing, the DT play has been worse. Biggest need.

With our offense dead last in the league it's hard to understand how our DT are worst....

Even if they are.... Our Defense has played well enough to win games in the NFL.... not perfect, but well enough and that is with the under performing DT position.

Now our offense is not playing close to good enough to win games in the NFL. So though it maybe worst, the DT position is not as critical to winning game. It is a need, but not before offensive needs.

Give this defense Ngata and it'd probably score more than the offense. Give this offense any QB besides Manning or Brady and we're probably in the same situation. DT is the biggest single position need.

Been saying for 4 seasons now it's a huge need, perhaps our biggest right now.

I'll echo the sentiments that DT is a big need, but by no means the biggest.

I was saying before the draft that I thought our ends were capable, but that we should go after a DT. Most on here were saying the opposite of that.

I agree with DT just on the fact that if we shore up the D line we at least have something to build on. Our D is just getting run over. If we can have a strong D line that can stop the run and provide some pressure up the middle, our D will take a giant step forward in general.

I just wish there was a stud DT worth the #1. Alabama has a good one, don't know about super star. The kid from Auburn is dirty, don't want him. And...it's just hard not to take someone like Luck when given the opportunity.

In top 5 ? Maybe the dude from Bama Marcell Dareus or Farily from Auburn. But over all its a SHITTY SHITTY DT draft.

totally agreed. there are a couple there who wouldn't be absolutely horrible choices, but still they'd be reaches. it's nothing like last years draft class. really not a good year for DT at all. we need to improve there, but the answer isn't going to be in the draft.

i'd feel a whole lot better going through FA to fill the spot. same with OG. maybe trade for one. i don't know. i just don't like the draft prospects.

I just don't think a fatty who will be tired from being on the field all game since the offense goes 3 and out 80% of the time will be as significant as an improved offense.

Rivers, Big ben, Rodgers, Vick (ugh hate to say that), Brees, plus the two you mentioned and we are not close to being in this same position....

Because a good QB makes your RB better, your wr's better, and when your offense is playing good your offensive line has swagger and their play is better than being on a losing team. Those QB's can dictate defenses and not be dictated too.

After those guys there's about another 10 that would make our team better. Not saying the team will be great.

I mean look at what Bradford has done for the rams in his first season.... And that team looked horrible last year with worst personnel than us!!! But a good qb improves the team in sooo many ways. That's why this is being called a QB league. And even the guys they loss I'm pretty sure they've been competitive in most of them until the very end.

Bring in the best DT and were not winning anymore games because our offense can;t score, which is the problem.

All you are essentially saying is that the QB is a more important position. I can't argue that. All I'm saying is if you graded every position DT would have the lowest score.

I agree with all that. Unless magic happens and we are picking 10th I don't see a DT getting here.

Those are definitely our two worst positions, and calling them terrible is a severe understatement.

But you MUST have a QB who can move the chains and score, it is absolutely vital.

I hope we address both positions, it just cannot be overstated that you HAVE to have a QB who can play.
