but this isn't fantasy football. Stats aren't the end all be all....especially for a DE. Better stats doesn't mean others are playing better at that position.

I'd say 2009 through today....Peppers has played better than Jared Allen. Allen had top 5 $.

Peppers impact should create more stats for those playing around him. Look at what Freeney's presence, Jared Allen's presence does for all the people playing around him. The fact is that those players get more stats themselves and by getting more sacks and FF's, they create more issues for offenses thus allowing everyone around them to play at higher levels. Justin Tuck, Osi are another great example. Canty looked great in NYG cause of those guys.

Individual stats mean nothing but collective defensive stats do mean something. When your an impact player, it should elevate everyone around you and Peppers level of propelling fellow players isn't worth the money he is paid.
